RHP Jacob Misiorowski (1.55 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 10.8 K/9 in 52.1 IP) gets a special Memorial Day start to kick off AAA Nashville’s series at Pirates’ affiliate Indianapolis. C Jorge Alfaro leads the team in homers (9), RBIs (26) and runs (26), but also bears a 6 BB / 63 K ratio in 170 PAs.

Delgado plays a pretty routine ground ball behind second base too casually and it costs Misiorowski another run as the runner beats out the throw to 1st base.

May be a short outing for Miz - at 71 pitches to get through only 3 innings. 5H and 2BB, but only 1 ER (2R) so far and he does have 5K.

Still this was one less-than-stellar outing for him in what has been an exceptional year for the most part.

Well he reads my post and... strikes out the side to say that I don't know very much about baseball.

87 pitches, to get through 3 IP, but now 8K.

4 innings right? Or is this graphic wrong?

The Sounds offense still hasn't woken from it's slumber - it is it's usual Monday quiet self.

Miz is out after 4 IP. Not his best, but boy he went out on a high with a 3K 1-2-3 4th inning.

Elvin is in.

One outing later and Hudson's velo is back down to 91-92. He did touch 92.8 mph in this inning but that's it. He's working with men on the corners and two down. Manager Rick Sweet has already been ejected.

AZ Brewers about to get going on the complex with this lineup…

Handelfry Encarnacion CF
Juan Ortuno SS
Frederi Montero 3B
Jadyn Fielder LF
Kevin Ereu 2B

Gery Holguin 1B
Ethan Dorchies P

& Dorchies promptly goes 1-2-3 with two fly outs and a strikeout.

Sweet was tossed because he was defending his player and the ineptitude of the home plate ump. Alfaro challenged a low 2-2 strike call on a breaking ball. He tapped his helmet immediately. She refused to grant the challenge. The Sounds very much have a challenge remaining. Ridiculous actions by the lady working the dish.

After Rosario takes the lead off walk down 2-0 top of 9, Wes Clarke K's swinging. His 3rd K of his evening. Just an absolutely non-committal confused half swing on a 2-2 breaking ball dead center. Not a good look. Man on 1st. One down. Delgado then lines a first pitch inside breaking ball into RF. Men on the corners. One down.

Zamora is granted a challenge (see, they had one...she refused to grant Alfaro his). He fails. None the less, he pokes a shallow flare into CF sending Rosario home. Men on 1st and 2nd. One down. Sounds trail 2-1. Herron will try to do further damage.

Herron works a walk. He is fooled on a high 3-2 breaking ball. It is called just high and out of the zone - I believe the right call. Bases juiced. One down. Hall is to the dish.

Another full count. A check swing foul. A swing and a miss. Several heaters all over the map. Hall adeptly fouls a heater on the outer black (97 mph) down the 1B foul territory. He K's swinging on a check swing on a knee high just outside heater. He went. Dunn with two down will try to tie it or take the lead. Bases juiced.

Dunn is in a 2-2 count. The relief arm is already at 35 pitches. Fouls back a heater. Breaking ball low and inside in the dirt. He lays off. 3-2 count. Everyone will be moving. Dunn goes down staring at a dead center heater. Can not happen. You have to be sitting on that pitch. Yuck. Sounds lose 2-1. Ugly L given the opportunity late. Back at it Wednesday.

Quero singled and Ortuno walked to get a little traffic for the Zona Crew in the first but nothing more came of it.

Dorchies posted another three up three down in the second, two more fly outs and a grounder to first.

Fielder leads off the second with a walk and goes to second on a wild pitch with Ereu back filling first in a walk of his own.

Are the MiLB Gameday pitch location graphics for the ACL accurate?  Because they say the ump called balls on two middle-middle pitches to Jadyn Fielder just now.

Don’t believe so.

Occasionally they’ll play at a stadium with the full StatCast array and get pitch types, velocities, exit velo, etc.

Think pitch locations are accurate for those games, but the rest of the games they aren’t really trustworthy.

Quintana singles home a third run then steals a bag to make it 2nd/3rd no outs.

Quero strikes out and Handelfry pops out, but Ortuno comes through with the two RBI single, 5-0 Brewers.

After sitting around around for two walks, three singles, a wild pitch, a stolen bag, an error, five runs, a pitching change, a balk and another wild pitch…Dorchies runs into trouble in the third.

Single, double, single, single (two runs) to open the inning.

Mound visit and he goes fly out, and a pair of E4 as two more runs cross the plate.

Another single and now it’s tied at five.
