I'm confused when you said Kiner-Falefa is a below average bat? Unless I heard wrong. At the 1:26:30 point.

He's very much a below average bat. He's just barelllyyyyy above average this year with a 102 wRC+ but he broke into the league in 2018. His career wRC+ is 84, way below league average.

I disagree that he is "very much below average now" with a .362 OBP.   The league average is a .312 OBP.

BA. now .297  but he recently did miss a couple weeks with a pulled hamstring that would be a concern for me.

I mean, it depends how real you think his 2025 is. He's definitely hitting the ball better, I just don't believe it will continue.

Yes, its ok you believe IKF is ≤ Joey Ortiz.  Meanwhile in SD, IKF went 1-3 yesterday, hitting .297 by acciden't. Ortiz 0-4 posting sizzling Joey Wiemer like numbers this season.

Love the pod, have been listening for a while. I have a very basic question. Whether it's this year or ten years form now...Pat Murphy is not going to stick around as manager that long. Rickie has been the heir-apparent since Craig left. Do we know *anything* about how he thinks about the bullpen...or any managerial decisions? I have had issues with Murphy's decisions to wear down his guys, but at least I can explain that his philosophy comes from his years of college coaching. Again, do we know anything about how Weeks thinks about things?

Thanks!

Hey man, I'm really sorry this was lost in the approval queue for a few days. Thanks for the comment and thank you for listening to the pod!

As for Weeks, I'd equate him to a Rocco Baldelli for the Twins. A former position player who never managed before his (potential) MLB manager gig. To me, I think that means that Weeks, like Baldelli did in his early years, will rely on a lot of suggestions from his pitching coach and the front office about how to manage a staff.
