Do we think there is more to the story than Murphy simply being disappointed with Joey Ortiz’s approach at the plate recently?

He probably was one of the more effective offensive shortstop the past few weeks.

Yeah I just don't really get it. Ortiz was playing his best baseball of the season then had two really bad games in Miami and Murphy benched him and just tore him to shreds publicly. Weird situation.

I doubt it. Murphy was especially blunt in his comments, and acknowledged that he had been doing better, but when he says "the manager's pissed" I think it's reasonable to take him at his word.

The opportunity to win this game was when we had Glasnow on his heels in the early innings with the bases loaded and 1 out and Bauers and Ortiz came up and couldn’t do anything.
