That’s exactly the kind of AB with the bases loaded that got Joey benched in the first place last weekend. Stare at a couple fastballs down the middle, swing at one way above the zone.

At what point do you consider sending Ortiz down for two weeks to find his swing? Give Mona and Seigler some run. Turang gets some games at SS, Durbin at 2B. He’s so lost with identifying pitches to swing at right now, and has zero confidence.

Exactly what I came here to post. He watches two pitches over the heart of the plate and swings at a ball that had no chance to do anything with even IF he connected.

Murphy's use of Contreras is ridiculous. Haase started 5 games in May, 3 in June and 3 thus far this month (1 as DH though). Contrera's numbers are far from his Silver Slugger self and we are now carrying 3 catchers so he really should be DHing a lot more
