I only probably notice the bad things with the change up. Does he get outs with it?

All of his offspeed offerings have gotten better results than his fastball this year. Batters were hitting .198 and SLG .279 against the changeup before today

Is Montesario dead or can he not play short at all?

I mean he has a lower season OPS than Ortiz does, which is tough to accomplish.

Just have to post this here.  Seems we are out of the race for the services of our favorite reliever...Damn.

Andrew Golden of the Washington Post reports that the Nationals are trading pitchers Andrew Chafin and Luis Garcia to the Angels.
The Nationals will acquire left-handed pitcher Jake Eder and first baseman Sam Brown in the deal, per Golden. Chafin has been a solid relief option for Washington at the age of 35, and he and Garcia will both provide middle-inning help for a team that is closer to contention than anyone could have imagined to begin 2025.

The bottom of our roster is not good & needs to be improved asap

"Each and every time Peralta has been able to go deep...in pitch count"

Rock, I don't think that's what people mean when they say a pitcher is able to go deep in a game.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

Chafin was needed to sweeten the deal. Brewers are getting Chafin and Trout.

What would that prove?  Substitute one bad hitting SS for another? I'd rather have Joey's defense.

I've had this conversation before on here but Ortiz is just not an everyday big league player for a championship contending team.

Right, I agree. But neither is Montasterio.

True, but Montesario isn't any better.

I agree, we need an upgrade, but Montesario isn't that.

Few games in a row Freddy looks off.  With the Cortes issue coming soon maybe a quick two week break for Peralta for dead arm to just get a rest wouldn't be a bad idea.  Get re-charged for the stretch

Too bad the bases have been empty for Contreras today.

You’d think we have Cal Raleigh catching the way Murphy can seem to give him a rest. But really, Contreras has been closer to Joey Ortiz. Plus Jansen vs a lefty is a good bat and Contreras should be at most DH today. It’s becoming asinine at this point
