Well going for Game 15 in a row we get that inevitable Murf Bullpen management question. I guess that's progress?

At least they don't happen as often.

It's still his weakest attribute.

Need to play for more than one run anyway in extras on the road, not sure about bunting there.

This is more my issue. Not the bunt... you don't have Uribe, Megill, Mears... gotta play for more than one...IMO.

But it's REAL hard for me to question Murphy at this point. There's a long list of "I'd have done...and there's a drive to left by Mona-...."

I was totally at peace with having the streak snapped losing 1-0.

Now between wasting the heroics of Contreras, a terrible error by Turang, a dumb decision to pull Tobias and a questionable bunt decision/bad bunt by Perkins, they’ve managed to make it annoying and burn more of the pen.

This loss is the byproduct of Misiorowski going less than 2 innings Friday. So clinging to a late lead two days later they’re forced to use the fringe roster guys out of the pen with the game on the line. Moreover, it’s a trade of Cortes domino effect of shortening rotation depth by one leading to this mess.

We have the best baseball record in all of MLB and we're still questioning Murph's decisions? How good do we have to be?

We could be 161-1 and people would still be like…. Murph should done better bullpen management to keep us undefeated 🤪🤪

If he's bad at it, yes.  Every game counts the same.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

It's not like they're lacking for starting pitching depth. They still have Patrick in AAA who has a better ERA in ~100IP. Then Henderson IL, Myers is being used out of the pen.

I don't really think this is the domino effect of the Nestor Cortes trade.

You can be the best manager in the game, which he probably is, and that doesn’t mean individual decisions can’t be questioned and/or second guessed. Being good doesn’t mean being perfect.

That would have been worth the risk.

Should have thrown it

...not sure what risk you're talking about?

Going to 3rd? Because I think he was going to easily beat that, but I don't know what other risk there may have been.

Great effort. Sucks to have to give a game away due to personal issues but it's a long season. Murphy still scares me with his decision making as crazy as it might seem.
