We have lost 3-in-a-row to these guys.

Why would you think they would win tomorrow?

Makes no sense ??

After Mondays' game we had beaten them four out of five, and had won 15 out of 16 games. Why would anyone think we could lose the next three?

Baseball.

Because it’s a baseball game and most are pretty 50/50?

First week watching baseball?

Crew won 8, 12, and 14 in a row!!!

This is a very good team who will win the division by at least 10 games!

I believe you have discovered the law-of-averages

(without even knowing it).

Congrats !!

You had me on the first part (even though it was 11, not 12) and then lost me on the second part.

The law of averages usually doesn't leave someone thirty-some games over .500 three-fourths of the way through a season. Winning fifteen out of sixteen guarantees nothing the next day. Neither does dropping three in a row.

They probably view it like all the other games where they go and try to win, but it doesn't always happen. The theatrics in here tonight are seriously insane. Losing to your rival is never fun, but my God. We hold the high ground and being where we are is an absolute dream right now.

I think it has to do with the way these games have gone down. Kinda reminiscent of past years in the playoffs where they had all sorts of traffic on the bases but couldn't get the big knock.

I'll be honest, I'm concerned too. Woody is leaking oil a bit lately. Miz isn't ready for this yet. That pitching depth is starting to wear a bit thin. Double edged sword with this group... Entertaining as hell because they play a lot of close games, but eventually that check comes due when the pen has to cover this many innings.

Get one tomorrow and let's get the home cooking going again.

I’m not even in the top 50th percentile of most positive posters, believe it or not.

I was only barely watching tonight (thank God) but it appeared they had several baserunners but just couldn't get the hit or would hit it hard right at a fielder. It happens. They're not going to keep hitting .288 (or whatever the high was) with RISP. It sucks it happens this series but they will get healthy yet and go on a run and the Cubs will lose some games in a row, too.

When I first saw stats people years ago keeping track of run differential, I thought it was a joke.

It is meaningless when you apply it to a small number of games. The runs the Brewers scored against the Cubs throwaway pitcher on Monday pad the total.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I really don’t know what to expect in September. I don’t know if they’ll turn it around in a big way or spiral.

Counsell used to talk about the 'next hit'. That's been missing, sometimes due to bad ABs, sometimes just not finding a hole. Contreras put a decent swing on an 0-2 pitch from a guy you don't want to fall behind on. Allllmost.

Cade Horton is a throwaway pitcher?

So Priester pitches tomorrow and comments have already written the game off as an L. (Cubs fans obviously)

What teams in MLB are playing without their #3 batter? Right now?  Chourio has missed how many games during this stretch? He will be returning.

BTW, I saw comments on here about Misioroski going to the bullpen.

IMHO he needs to go to Nashville and see if he can learn how to throw strikes again.

In the bullpen what role would he have that can’t be filled by Anderson? Maybe if he can get straightened out he could be considered for the pen. But right now I wouldn’t trust him with any kind of lead.

We all get it. We don’t need to even watch tomorrow’s game, it is a Cubs’ win per “Brewluver”. Thank you for saving us all 3 hours.

This I will agree with. Miz has no role with the MLB club if he can’t throw strikes consistently. He cost us the game tonight.

Of course not! I’m not even smart enough to know that tomorrow’s game is already a foregone conclusion.

No, the guy who essentially walked the Brewers to 4 runs in the 8th inning.

Yeah, but with the way Peralta performed, that didn’t even matter.
