There has NEVER been a golfer that would say, has said that.

I know that making stuff up on the internet is fun, but C'mon Man !!

Tiger for one has expressly said that

This board had kind of gotten weird lately

What's the 1st base coach doing there?

A 1B coach doesn't have the same influence or responsibility as a 3B coach AFA "go" or "Don't go". That's on the baserunner when a play is in front of you.

Like the ball Yelich stretched into a double. He wasn't "sent". That's totally on him.

Danny Jansen. Not good.

Must be tough getting such little use, and it's hard to complain about a backup catcher. But that was a guy acquired to be a right bench bat, and it hasn't really paid off.

With a .203 average/Brewers and .218 career I wouldn't expect to much more than what we have seen.  Heck a guy his size you'd think would have power and doesn't even have that with 85 HR's in 1744 AB's.

They might have to be getting to the point though where you just ask, “why not Quero?”

He's definitely settling in nicely in recent games. But with important games yet to play I don't think they'd pull the pin on a backup C that's never played in a big league game. One way or another, the Danny Jansen Passion Play will continue to play out tomorrow as I'm sure he'll be behind the plate.

And they’d have to add him to the 40 which they won’t do…..not to be a backup this year.

Part of the 2025 recipe for success is that they’ve entrusted numerous rookies and young players to not only play but to have extremely significant roles on this team.

I'm not saying you’re wrong, I’d agree that Jansen almost assuredly isn’t going anywhere. I just don’t think that Quero’s lack of experience necessarily plays any role. I think if he got promoted tomorrow, Murphy probably trusts him early and often.

Frustrating game today, but seeing the Cubs presumably make up no ground takes some sting out of it.

We lost a great opportunity to throw the Cubs into despair tonight.

How soon before Quero comes up?

Edit....sorry I see that this was already discussed.

That wasn't Mysterio's finest hour, but if that throw is off line at all he's safe. It also actually looked like a good slide would have made it, he had a chance to get under that tag and just didn't come in smoothly at all.

I am not sure 2nd was that much better than 1st at that point with Turang coming up.

I didn't like it b/c the top of the order was due up. If he was being followed by Ron Theobald & Bob Heise, then sure. Also, Gurriel has 5 OF assists on the year, which sounds like a pretty healthy total for a LF. Not the worst decision I've ever seen but not good.

I don't see it happening either but yeah, if he came up Murphy would definitely throw him out there.

On the plus side( because I’m looking for any silver lining)

They have an interesting decision on how they will proceed next year. I certainly imagine Quero has to break ground with the Brewers in 2026 at some point and I’d also imagine that Contreras isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Quero is on the 40 and has been for 2 years now.

Not to defend Jansen, but his PAs in his big league career amount to roughly three-and-a-half to four full seasons. Games played, same. in that time, 85 HR is actually a very healthy total. In fact it's his one redeeming characteristic offensively.

Again, this isn't an attempt to defend his ABs tonite. They were both ugly.

And ideally Quero is up from Day 1 next year considering he is down to his last option next season and you’d probably prefer not to burn that.

I think he makes the team out of ST. We shall see. If not, certainly in-season.

But he has 1744 at bats, that is quite a few.
