This is why I'm not worried about the division. The Cubs have been completely blah against this supposed soft schedule since the ASB. The sample is big enough to know they will lose to these teams. They don't beat them consistently enough to pick up the ground unless we absolutely urinate ourselves and go like 7-21.

It makes no sense but I am ok with our struggles. I had anxiety about staying hot all the way until October. Get the rough patch out now.

I can't say I'm "OK" with it, but after 14-0 along with the long stretch of games there was going to be some revision. So four games left in this stretch, Chourio was back in the dugout today, everything we're hearing about Ortiz sounds positive, and if Vaughn is leaking oil there's a veteran bat waiting to help out at 1B, probably on Monday.

I guess that's another way of saying that they aren't playing as well as they were when they won fourteen games in a row. Which was inevitable.

The 14 games wasn’t the only time they were playing well though.   This team is playing different now.   They can’t hold 6 run leads.   They can’t close games off in the ninth.   Frustrating defense sometimes.   Definitely not the same.    But that doesn’t mean they won’t.    Get back to me after these next 6 games.   We don’t need a longish losing streak

I thought they were going to go 16-14 this month and revised it to 13-17 after we found out Chourio would be out longer than anticipated. Brewers are sitting at 19-8 and have a 6.5 game lead in the division in August 28th. This is a really great spot to be considering we entered August with a 1 game lead in the division.

Tough next 6 games. Find a way to go 3-3 and then the schedule dies down, you get some off days, and you get 2 September call ups to give some more guys rest.

Are we still having fun?

Absolutely.  When we lose, it is surprising now to me that they didn’t find a way to come back.

Kyle Schwarber is 🤪

Schwarber actually had a shot at becoming the first to ever hit five home runs in a game, but apparently it got in his head before his final at-bat of the night and he popped up.

I’ll never forget the Braves game I attended as a 9 year old in 1961 when Willie Mays hit 4 home runs.

He was in the on deck circle when the Giants made their final out in the ninth.

Hank Aaron also hit 2 HR in that game, a 14-4 Giants win. The Giants hit 8 HR altogether.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Parsons?  Who's that?

This is embarrassing.  It wasn't until later when I realized who this is.   I was still stewing over losing to AZ.   lol

He should be a big addition for the Pack.
