Enjoyed the Podcast this morning (I listen to the Sandbox 1st and then go back to the beginning.)  I agree that if anyone can get to Appleton to see those 5 kids, they should do so.

I'd be interested in your comments from my observations from the game I saw this week.

Made and Fischer are legit, really obvious talents.    Adamczewski DH'd that night.  He has a very solid, impressive approach at the plate.  I was interested to see Dinges' defense, and it seemed decent to solid.  Pena a really, really tough night, maybe this jump to A+ is a bit quick for him?

Fischer, Made and Dinges should be able to handle AA at some point (probably early) next year, Adamczewski too, though maybe later in the year.  Pena may spend more time at A+ than the other 4.  I understand they like to keep Made and Pena together, but eventually each kid has to be allowed to develop at their own pace.

I think that’s a fair question. I personally don’t have many concerns with Peña’s bat holding up as he’s pushed. It’s been a bit of a struggle in High-A but he’s also shown a lot of the good stuff he showed in Low-A. My guess is they’ll continue moving Made/Peña together, but you’re not wrong that they shouldn’t force it.

I mean it isn't wrong 😅. Birchard's stuff is filthy. Last night felt like the grand reward: we finally got to see what his stuff looks like when he is IN and nibbling the zone. It was glorious. He has such a violent delivery with such fascinating movement profiles. This isn't remotely a Yerlin situation or a Tanner Shears (tip one out for the splitter man long gone by now - sighs).. His walk concerns aren't wild. They are mostly just off.

Also Birchard is very clearly a young man who knows he has the goods. He has one of the more impressive bravado-filled mound-to-dugout walks in the entire system. Probably up there with KC Hunt. 😅

Also peep Adamczewsi playing what I believe is his first professional game in LF.

Yup! 83 MILB games at 2nd base and now Adamczewski gets his first game in the outfield.

Also, RHP Bishop Letson tossed 2.2 IP (1 R, 3 Ks) and 41 pitches in his last outing. Hopefully he takes another key step tonight, as High-A Wisconsin aims to even up their home series against Quad Cities.

The Low-A Mudcats trail 2-1 in this week's home series against Delmarva and turn to LHP Wande Torres (5.26 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 9.4 K/9 in 77 IP) to even things up. LF Tyler Rodriguez has an 11-game on-base streak.

AA Biloxi have dropped 3 games in a row at Montgomery, but will be tough to beat tonight if RHP Jaron DeBerry is on point (7 IP, 0 R, 9 Ks in last outing). It may take time for DH Brock Wilken to find his sea legs after a 69-day absence (0-for-5, 5 Ks yesterday). I’m wondering about Zavier Warren’s status (last played on Sunday).

LHP Robert Gasser makes his 9th rehab start (4.2 IP, 2 R, 4 Ks in 64 pitches on Sunday) as AAA Nashville seeks to tie up their home series against Charlotte. LF Daz Cameron and C Jorge Alfaro are tied for the team homer lead with 15 each.

Oh my Carolina lost again. Nice start by Torres, but MiqueasMercedes did not have that touch today.  Offense still struggling to get a lot of hit and therefore runs.

Another night another loud hard hit out by Fischer. Tonight to deep center and nice catch by the CF. 102 mph EV.

Man. I thought he hit one out again.  Dang it 😞

Brito just crushes a Sam Garcia pitch to deep center.  River bandits now up 5-0.  That’s Britt’s 2nd tonight

T-Rats offense is just non-existent tonight.

Seven individual Sounds have a stolen base tonight? That's something. Was not expecting to see that. 😅 They clearly saw something going on with the Jonathan Cannon/Adam Hackenberg battery. Previous to tonight, Hackenberg had thrown out 10-of-32 attempts. That's quite good.

Sam Garcia with runs allowed in consecutive innings, gives up a 1-out double.

Then gets a pop up after falling behind 3-1.

Next batter 3 pitch K. For his 9th K in 4 innings of relief. Wow 9 of 12 outs via the K. Unfortunately for the hits and 2 runs. But still best outing I’ve seen from him in a while.

You know, Garcia now has 7 K, 7 K, and 9 K under his belt in 3-of-5 outings in August. Fascinating and inspiring direction. He may also pitch the ninth. This is an interesting development.

Wande Torres has become one of the more underrated pitching prospects in the system. 20 year old LHP who touches the mid-90's relatively consistently with a really solid frame. If you can look beyond his ugly ERA there are a lot of things to like on the statistical side. A nearly 14 K-BB%, FIP and xFIP both under 4.00. We know the Brewers must like him after pushing him straight to Carolina from the DSL. After a rough start to the season, he's bounced back to have a really nice last few months of the year.
