The cubs have like the third or fourth best  record in baseball and have decided to play like it.    It was coming at some point despite other people poo pooing it

we better play good baseball from here on out period.    They gave us  a chance to bury them but we didn’t.    If we fly out to San Diego and the magic number is four it’s on

Excellent response to the Angels 2nd run.  Vaughn getting his mojo back would be a pretty big development.

He's been a pretty big reason the crew is in the position they are.

Solid big league hitter.

Have they been any closer than 5 games at any point recently, including their recent 6 of 7 streak?

If the Brewers finish 6-5 after tonight the Cubs would need to completely run the table in their last 11 games of the season and go on a 14 game winning streak to win the division. Are you really that fearful of that scenario?

No they haven’t.    They gave us a chance to bury them.   What’s crazy is they’ve actually gained on us.  That’s how crappy we have been.    Just don’t be crappy these last two weeks and we are fine

You quoted comment is why I ignored that guy.  Brewers are winning all night and are up 5 games and he's moaning about the Cubs being good.

Don't. Care.

He is.  And he's not the only one.  Had the same discussion with someone else earlier today on this thread.

The Brewers despite their “crappy” play are in fact 6-5 in their last 11.

Do that again and I’m quite confident that those 98 wins will be sufficient.

Are we Payamps proof?  Must be some bigger plans for Patrick so he just got a tune up inning.  Good if so.

I think it’s just having a 7 run lead they’d rather burn the remaining pitches on Payamps than anyone else, which makes sense.

With Quintana's calf injury, they may need Patrick for a spot start or at least long relief outing.
