They just came off a week off. Jeez that takes any joy from this win away. Also means Perkins has to play every day. Going to be tough

We have Lockridge too & Collins is starter quality

Collins needs to abandon his kid for a month and get some sleep

If you don't trust him with an 8 run lead then he should be at home. I would trust Myers

I've thought about this and I agree that Miz should see some batters today if we have a really good lead. Experiences with the nervousness of a playoff game might be really helpful to his game. The only way to be comfortable in pressure situations is to experiences them a number of times.

Yep, would love to get Miz an inning today in the 8th or 9th.

I would wait until at least the seventh inning if the eight run lead holds up.

I would be totally fine with Peralta being done.  Keep the arm fresh for his next start.  Guessing he’ll get another inning though.

It's four day's rest to the Thursday game, if needed. He usually gets 5, doesn't he?

No, 4 days rest is normal rest.  I think its worth shutting him down tonavoid Cubs seeing him another trip through the order and to give relievers some work rest of today's game, though

I agree with that.

Let him go. The Cubs have seen him plenty. One more time through the order shouldn't make a difference. Try to get through this game with only Freddy, Mis, and Anderson.

Freddy gives up another solo home run. That's what he does.

Its also pretty much what the Cubs do....

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Good outing all things considered but no reason for him to pitch this inning.  You don’t need 6 innings out of starters with the off days in the playoffs.  Could’ve had 5 strong innings without running him up to 100 pitches.

I wonder what kind of big league ready arms we could get for Freddy in an offseason trade. I like several of our younger pitchers, but maybe there is a good return for a top pitcher like Peralta.
