If Quintana can have 2 or 3 more innings like that, definitely changes the complexion of the game. Looked sharp.

Joey is smooth as hell.

He probably needs to get through four more to save the bullpen.

Who starts game 4 (if needed) for the Crew? Quintanna is coming in soon so it looks like game 4 will be another bullpen adventure.

If the Cubs win this game, we won't have any pitching left for game 4

First playoff start from a 24 year old too.  He pitched like a veteran all year, but he is still young.

On the bright side, Priester should be fresh for the Dodgers if we advance

So the last time we overcame a 3 run deficit was... *checks notes*... yesterday.

Definitely doable.  Quintana doing Quintana things for a few innings would sure help.  So far so good.

Offense is going to have to change the complexion of the game.  Quintana just stopped the bleeding.

I trust Murphy and Hook's ability to get his mind right.  If he were going to melt down after a bad start that probably would have happened 5 months ago.

A better bat than Perk.

Maybe. It's kinda been a toss up vs righties. They're both have a ~.580 OPS vs RHP.

Offense has to put some pressure on the Cubs and Tallion this inning.

Alright, what we need is a run then another run then another run then 4 more runs then 2-3 more runs and then a grand slam and I'm thinking the Brewers win

We're going to have everyone but Priester, Quintana, Gasser, and Anderson available if the offense doesn't get going.

I don't really get the Quintana thing. I would have just hoped Anderson or something could keep this close. I don't quite understand the strategy of tossing Quintana out there down 3 with Lockridge and Bauers lineup going. I get that it means you aren't just punting this game, but ehhh...I would have kept Quintana as a Game 5 starter.

Yeah, if this goes to game five the pitching situation is going to be interesting.

days off Friday and Sunday. If we get to game 5 it'll be all hands on deck minus Freddy.

It's gut check time. Numbers aren't as important now, in my view. Playoff baseball is about who can perform in a pressure cooker.

They probably have an assembly of guys they like better for Game 4 more than Quintana. The starter/reliever distinction is not that important in these games. Just 27 outs with the lead however you can get them.

My thought all along was that we should have used Priester in game 2. Don't put the young guy into a hostile environment in game 3 after a heavy bullpen game. I would then use Quintana in Game 3 as a veteran playoff pitcher.
