I didn't tune in until just after Ohtani's second homer, and didn't know he was starting.  So this "greatest single playoff game performance" didn't have the full affect on me.  Interestingly, I go fangraphs and his WPA for the game is just +.35, while Yamamoto's Game 2 was +.37.  So it wasn't even the best single performance this *series*.

I've been OK with Brian Anderson and the number of games he worked this season, but watching the games and Brian getting excited about the opposition was hard to swallow.  Yes, I'm aware he is paid to do it and he would do it for whomever would have won.  Maybe time for him to move on and fully commit to bigger things, like Gary Bender, Merle Harmon or Matt V.?  I know some people chuckled when he first signed on, but he made people forget about Darren Sutton real quick.

I was at the UW-UCLA volleyball match, which afterwards I made small talk with the father of a UCLA player who was wearing a Dodgers cap, going "at least you'll have one win tonight".  He was very complimentary towards the Brewers and said they have nothing to be ashamed of, they had the best record.

I can envision next season when the Dodgers visit Milwaukee for the crowd to erupt in "Lock Them Out!!" chants, if only to troll the Dodgers, but also to send a message to MLB and the country.  Maybe other cities can join in.

For me, this season was the most fun watching since 2018 and am sad the fun is over.

They will have to figure out how Isaac Collins factors in.  Just over two months ago, he was the best hitter on the team and the ROY favorite.  Not even a month later, he was the worst player on the team and that continued through the end of the year.

He's done here for me. Maybe 4th outfield type but if he can't play center 🤔

Durbin was actually the Brewers best offensive player in the NLCS, and he plays Suarez's position

Durbin the best offensive player, and he sucked !!

You want some stats?

13 at bats

5 strike outs vs 1 walk

4 hits

1 run scored

0 rbi

So if he was the best O player, (and everyone was worse), there should not be anyone here wondering why we got SWEPT !!

Given how well Murph managed the team, I don't want to second guess too much. But pItch around the guy and walk him? Or just send him to first. Either way, don't let him beat you with the long ball.

You're not going to pitch around him his first at bat in the very 1st inning.

When the inning ended, they had 3 runs, and the game was over.

He was just "piling on" after that, (because they don't take-a-knee in baseball).

I'd be 100% fine with him just moving on from the Brewers all together.  In fact, I hope that happens.  Tired of part timers, I want my full time homer announcers damn it!

5 games off before the playoffs and then 5 games in 8 days.  They were really overworked.

Per wiguy94, Uribe has been worked so hard this season to the point where his velocity is down a couple MPH. Well you know what? It's not just pitchers that get worn down. Position players do too. The season is a GRIND, and murphy rode his main guys hard.

I agree 100%.

I have wondered for decades why we need to play 162 games,

(just to figure out who will be in the playoffs).

Every time I suggest to myself that 100 games would be plenty, the realization of how much revenue would be lost, assures me it will never change.

Durbin had a .973 OPS in the series. Are you really trying to pretend that isn’t really good? That was the second best OPS of anyone in the NLCS behind Ohtani.

Yeah Uribe’s hardest sinker was 97.7mph in the NLCS compared to his season average of 98.7mph. His velo was down 2-3mph. I think it’s pretty safe to say Uribe just wore down because of overuse during the whole season. I mean the guy threw over 80 innings including the postseason I believe

what did his sinker average in September? I'd be curious to know if it started to tail off before the playoffs.

It started tailing off a bit. His velo peaked in August trended down in both September and October though the September drop off wasn't as extreme as the October drop off

August - 99.0mph (this was his peak velo month)

September - 98.3mph

October - 97.3mph

Slider saw something similar happen

August - 87.6mph (this was his peak velo month)

September - 86.2mph

October - 85.3mph

Who cares, his production was 0.   In 1 swing, Ohtani had more.

(from my chair at home I had just as many RBIs, and only 1 less walk).

His stats are equivalent to most 9th spot batters in the League.

Again, if you are celebrating his stats, it shows just how bad we actually were.

Dude it's not a copout it's just what happened. We literally just scored one run in our last four games. I did not come here to brag.....that's a weird flex. I want what is best for our team.

The copout is "We don't know how Suarez would have performed for us".

how can a guy have a 973 OPS and have zero production? He can't help it if there's no one in base when he bats.

He only got 4 hits the entire series & struck out 5 times.

My argument isn't saying he was "bad", my argument is disagreeing with posters saying he was "Good". He was Not good.

This is what good looks like.

No one on base last night when Ohtani was batting either.

I'm shocked... SHOCKED...that Babylon Bee would publish a hack headline.

It really should've been "Not the Bee"...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Hitting 3 home runs in a game is "good". I agree with that.

I'd also venture to guess that if every hitter in our lineup produced the same ABs as Caleb Durbin in the NLCS, we’d have won the series, or at least would still be playing.

IIRC, Yelich had a pretty quiet 2018 postseason the year he went supernova and won league MVP, too.

Yelich was the team's LVP that series.  Yeah, had the home run, then followed up with a GIDP to kill a rally.

I would give it Bauers (+0.07 WPA), but yeah, Durbin was #2 at +0.00 WPA.  :(

P.S. Yelich was #3 at -0.13 WPA.

And this is why we need to shift the talk to football.

Only 3 teams have won 3 straight at this point !!
