a few people mentioned a lack of touches for Golden. He was added to the injury report mid week. Hurt his hip in practice. He may not have been 100%

So what's the excuse for the six prior games?

Not pictured Tucker Kraft who is right behind Doubs in target percentage. So we have a rookie that's third on the team in target %. That is good. I am not complaining. Maybe he should get more but I have no idea how often he's open. I think game script plays into that too.

I'm not sure what you want. They'd be the number 1 seed in the NFC if the playoffs were today and they just had their best offensive showing of the year against the AFC North leader on the road.

I am not sure why anyone is surprised or disappointed that Golden isn't lighting the world on fire. He is the new guy on the block  behind a bunch of guys Love has been throwing to for years and have mastered the offense. It's just standard Packers M.O. for him to get out of the gates slowly. I assumed he'd have like 600 yards this year.

And most of the rookie WRs that exceed that number are on bad teams that have no other WR/TE options.

Golden is on pace to hit 614 yards this year.

Watson: 611 his rookie year - Rodger's last year

Doubs: 425 - also Rodger's last year

Reed: 793 yards - Love's first year and Watson only played 9 games that year.

I'm only using memory but I don't think the Packers have had a 1,000 yard player since Adams in 2021. I'm just not sure an MLF offense is the place for one WR to break out. Reed was well on his way last year but then fell off a cliff in late October.

Honestly, with all the issues/injuries with the offensive line, the mediocre defensive backfield, the deplorable special teams, I'm not really sure why the rookie WR is even much of a lightning rod at all. One, he's a rookie, two if Love gets enough time he's going to move the offense. It's not really a WR problem.

If the Packers had Ja'Marr Chase or Justin Jefferson on the roster, I guarantee you their output would be much greater than 600-700 yards per season.

Probably, and I'm not sure it's a great way to run your offense.

Yeah, just look back to Rodgers/Adams... There were games when they were unstoppable... but then run into a good playoff defense that triple covers Adams and what do we do?

Would I turn down Chase or JJ on this team?  No, but balance is needed

A nice long period of health would be very welcome from the WR group. Between Watson (hammy/ACL), Doubs (concussions) and now Reed it's certainly been more than a little frustrating to not have all those guys on the field at the same time.
