Meh. Solid depth. The minor leagues are starved for outfielders so this helps with that. DFA candidate if we sign someone else.

My understanding this is a major league contract.  So the Brewers pay him league minimum on or off the team, right?  So he would not be close to one of the first couple of people that will cut off the 40 man roster.

I'd guess he's ahead of Berroa, Sammy Peralta, McGee and Rob-Z. Maybe Seigler? Not the first to go but in the top 5 for sure. A 1.25M contract is peanuts in 2026 MLB money. Barring injury or insane overperformance he will spend his time patrolling the Nashville grass. Maybe he has an opt-out?

Maybe there is a trade in the works involving one of our outfielders? Maybe Mitchell won't be ready to go for a while?

Following his second shoulder surgery, Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell hopes for healthy 2026 in his injury-plagued career where he's yet to play 100 MLB games

Mitchell has played 141 games in his MLB career.

His MLB season high is 69 games in 2024 (he also played another 14 in the minors).

His professional high is 96 games in 2022 - 68 in the minors and another 28 in MLB.

I read today that it’s a split contract.
