From Friday's Link Report - this is why we note such things, wish it weren't so:

"Still just 17 years old, Venezuelan LHP Santiago Martinez now has a 19-to-3 K-to-BB mark through three appearances. After pitching five, then four, innings in his first two outings, he was lifted with two outs in the 3rd here, immediately after retiring two batters, the last on a strikeout. Hopefully the young man is OK."

Nothing serious, just the organization being cautious with some soreness.  The hope is for Martinez to be back on the mound within two weeks.

Even if it’s a significant sprain, that’s better than what it appeared for Akil Baddoo

Kind of shocking that he reacted like that to an ankle sprain though maybe it's just frustration to finally getting in rhythm after a long injury absence to just get injured again.

If one of those "high" ankle sprains, a more significant rehab process. Of course, we don't have the definitive word.

Though I've never seen someone suffer an Achilles tear without going to the ground, so in a way, that was promising at the time.

Things have been pretty quiet regarding Frank Cairone.  Any updates?  I don't see any stats, so I'm assuming he's not in game shape yet.  Any idea how he's looking?

The most recent update was on June 2nd:

"LHP Frank Cairone will begin throwing live to hitters starting next week and is expected to make his professional debut towards the end of the month."

We're not quite at the end of the month yet, but it's approaching. Of course, we shouldn't mark June 30th as a hard target. Here's hoping...

Cairone has been tentatively scheduled to make his professional debut on July 3rd for the ACL Brewers.
