Sounds' Opening Night is Friday 3/27 - at Norfolk (Orioles). That start date is one full week ahead of Biloxi and Wilson, and six days ahead of Wisconsin.

The eventual Nashville formal roster announcement will come directly from the Sounds, not the Brewers, once the Brewers have given the Sounds the official go-ahead to do so.

Feel free to link to any formal Sounds notices you see.

Sometimes, but not as often as we used to, we learn via player social media, who has been assigned where, prior to the formal affiliate announcements. We'll link to any of those posts in this thread as they come out.

As you might know, we use the "Your 2026" team threads to post and link to feature stories, including audio and video, that are outside the scope of game activity covered in the Daily Minor League Link Report.

These threads have become among the most popular for viewing here.

Please do not speculate on any player releases. Brewers Player Development or MiLB.com will update us formally.

So now that this has happened…….who do we think is the 2nd catcher at Nashville to start the season?

I'd guess Rodriguez? I would love to see Wood but with less than 60 AA games under his belt he may go back to Biloxi at least early on.

I don't believe in Miller as much as Harold Hutchinson does but he does have more AA experience and is probably better acquainted with some of the guys who will be in Nashville's staff.

"Brewers President of Operations and GM Matt Arnold joined Jeff Hem at Spring Training in Arizona to talk more about the farm system that runs through Nashville."

Important to note, before official roster releases, it certainly sounds as tho Pratt; Wilken; Lara; and Adams all are starting in Nashville.

So, I think (for me at least) this would very likely mean early estimations of Double-A Fischer and Adamczewski are right on track. I imagine Dylan O'Rae will get plenty of early CF reps.

Nashville Press Release:

SOUNDS 2026 OPENING DAY ROSTER ANNOUNCED

NASHVILLE – The Nashville Sounds, in conjunction with the reigning National League Central Division champion Milwaukee Brewers, are excited to announce the 2026 Opening Day roster of Sounds baseball. Fourteen of the 28 active players for the start of the season appeared for the Sounds during the 2025 campaign, including the Sounds 2025 Pitcher of the Year, Garrett Stallings and the 2025 Fan Favorite, Freddy Zamora.
Ten of the Brewers’ top 30 prospects (MLB Pipeline) are on the roster, highlighted by infielders Jett Williams (#3) and Cooper Pratt (#4). Nashville’s Opening Day roster consists of 21 players from the United States, two from Venezuela, two from Nicaragua, one from Canada, one from Puerto Rico, and one from the Dominican Republic.
There are nine members of the Brewers’ 40-man roster on the initial Sounds roster.

Nashville Sounds placed RHP Gerson Garabito on the 60-day injured list - broken bone in foot
Nashville Sounds placed LHP Thomas Pannone on the 7-day injured list - torn flexor tendon in left forearm last March (no concrete updates since)
Nashville Sounds placed RHP J.B. Bukauskas on the 7-day injured list - significant lat injury 12-13 months ago (no concrete updates since)

Looks like the organization still needs to drop from 29 to 28 players, as per the roster page. 3rd catcher Andrick Nava will be bound for the "Development List", most likely. He's not listed in the press release.

Looking a lot like Jett Williams and/or Tyler Black will be in the OF to start the year given the crowded IF and the only OF listed as Jones and Lara. Lara will man CF for sure, so it will be RF or LF for Jett and Tyler I suspect, unless E. Leonard will play in the grass.
Rotation is likely Rodriguez, Henderson, Drohan, Gasser with Kuehner, Rom, Crow as the likely 5th option depending on how they want to develop Kuehner and Crow now. They typically have one vet in the rotation, although at this time point C. Rod may be that AAAA vet.

I just noticed, that it is Quero with Rodriguez (and Nava as the 3rd C). So neither Miller nor Wood will be in AAA to start the year, so I suspect they both start at AA, which pushes Dinges back to A+?

Still a prospect laden starting staff, and the roster has more real prospects than in years past with Pratt, Williams, Wilken, Adams, Lara  and Quero. That's 4-5 starting pitchers, and likely 5-6 positional players each day. Very very nice

Garabito will be that vet once he comes back I would think. I don't mean to say this in too many threads but I still think Rodriguez could be had for a song by another team. The Brewers just have so many more guys who will be coming up to start ahead of him at this point..

6’4”, 247lb RHP Joe Corbett may also be on that Development List, since he’s also showing as Active, but missing from the press release.

I’d thought maybe Easton McGee may take time to get to Nashville after being optioned, but I guess he’s ready to get straight to work.

INF Luke Adams didn’t play in either of the Spring Breakout games (or other MLB or MILB spring training games recently), so it’s good to see him listed as Active.

With the Brewers off today, I watched the Sounds game beginning to end.

Take Away: I can’t imagine Wilken ever making an impact in Milwaukee with so many other quality non-pitching prospects. He may be good trade bait.
