The Royals send recently recalled right-hander Luinder Avila to the mound in game one. Michael Wacha was otherwise inline for the start but is scratched this weekend due to illness. Avila is 24 years old and was a member of Venezuela's WBC championship team. Avila had a strong debut last season as a reliever with 1.29 ERA, 2.14 FIP, 28.6 K% over 14 IP. I don't expect much length out of Avila tonight as his previous start in Omaha was only three innings.

Chad Patrick made the first start of his career on April 1 last season against Kansas City. Patrick threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out 5 as the Brewers recorded their first win of the 2025 season.

It's amazing that we go all off season without baseball but then as soon as it starts back up again every single off day feels like a week and a half that we don't get to watch them play.

Good news is the postponed game means that both games tomorrow might be available to non Apple TV subscribers.  (I actually really like Apple TV but can't subscribe to everything, so it's out of the rotation currently.)

Just make a new gmail account and redeem the trial code again the next time the Brewers play on Apple TV. Is it the most moral thing to do? No probably not but in a time when companies are trying to get every last dollar from consumers I think it's alright to cheat the system a bit.

If it was their home opener I would kinda understand the postponement...but it's not.  Radar looks like it will rain for maybe a half hour at what was the scheduled first pitch and then it looks okay after that.  71 degrees right now.  I don't get it.
