Might as well. We have two challenges in the ninth.

Needed to challenge on the previous hitter.

Nice win.

Didn't read through the whole thread, but I'm guessing folks mentioned Patrick's usage?

I figured he would get the 8th too, and maybe the 9th, in a kind of swing role. Are we trying to make him Ashby but right-handed? I think the guy can make it as a starter, so I was surprised to see him in a one-inning role.

Maybe that's an innings-saving maneuver? I just kind of wonder what the plan is for Chad going forward. If he's a utility pitcher, that's potentially interesting, but I hope this doesn't presage a more traditional role.

I was shouted down when I said he needs to step it up. I was told he's doing well and I don't know ball. Crazy but true

I don't know how long you're going to keep this bit running but this happened because he had a 115 wRC+ when you said he needs to pick it up then you acted like you were talking about his whiff rate not his overall performance after I pointed it out.

If I say Mitchell does need to pick it up now will you stop doing this bit every single time he gets out?

If I had to guess he might still be set to start on Saturday so was only limited to one inning today as his "between start bullpen". Just a guess though. Could be totally wrong.

That was an odd 8th for Megill. I say that because the ball seemed to be coming out of his hand really well, but he was hurt by getting too much of the plate on a couple of 0-2 pitches. Usually his issues have to do with other stuff. Now the spiked wild pitch, THAT looked like an element of a struggling inning for him. But like I said, threw the ball well.

David Hamiltons' main asset came to the forefront in that 5-run inning. He bunted, but it wasn't a good bunt--way too hard. Waldron absolutely did the right thing on a bunt like that---looked at 2nd/3rd to see if he had a play there. Maybe a bit of hesitation, but not enough to keep from getting the runner at 1B. Except he didn't get him. The way that guy gets from 0-60 is just incredible.

Is it fair to say that Mitchell has had maybe 3-4 plays this year that weren't made, that were tough plays but ones that most CFs make? he DID put up a great piece of hitting in the 4th to sandwich in among the obligatory Ks.

Very similar outing for Sproat to his last time out, but a little more length. Baby steps. Well done.

If you acknowledge that there was absolutely nothing wrong with what i said I will let it go. Anyone could see given his strikeout rate his performance was not sustainable. All I said is we need him and Frelick to be better. It did not deserve the response you gave at all. Don't agree? Just let it go. Since then my take has borne out. That's all I wanted to say.

Fine dude. There was nothing wrong with it. Happy? Was this multi-week temper tantrum worth it?

I'd love to see him in a "RH Ashby" type role. But I suspect the recent off days have something to do with this. Someone would have to step forward, get healthy, whatever.

One can always hope.
