Dreaded flexor strain for Crow. Not ideal. Injuries are really starting to add up with the pitching staff. 10 pitchers on the IL and only one healthy pitcher on the 40 in AAA in McGee.

If the term you can never have too much pitching applied it's this season. Imagine where we'd be without the Harrison, Drohan trade. A head scratching trade at the time proves to be one of the most prescient moves of the year.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I didn't think it at the time because the injury listed was flexor strain but now I kind of just think that Crow went on the IL because they didn't want to option him to AAA because he's already been optioned a bunch this season.

A big part of the success here is looking beyond the normal 13-man staff. I know all teams realize there are going to be injuries & they'll try to develop depth, but the statement made in Milwaukee seems to be "your first thirteen might be comparable to ours, might even be better---they'll certainly be making more money---but once you get deeper into the season our 14 thru 22 will be better than yours." So kudos to the people doing the drafting, scouting & development, and to having the knack for seeing something in so many of these arms that others don't, and bringing it out.

I think the other litmus test for Arnold and company ……”What trade can we make that The BF board will think makes no sense and they will all have to do mea culpas later?”
