20-year old LHP Joey Broughton (8 IP, 3 R, 9 Ks in Low-A ball) and Wilson are shooting for a Sunday victory in Fredericksburg to earn a 3-3 series split. DH/OF Handelfry Encarnacion has a 5-game hitting streak and an .801 season OPS with a 57 BB / 65 K ratio.

High-A Wisconsin look to start a new winning streak and have the right man on the mound and top 5 in the batting order to get the job done. RHP Braylon Owens makes his 2nd home start of the week against Cedar Rapids (5 IP, 0 R, 8 Ks on Tuesday). RF Josiah Ragsdale’s on-base streak is 31 games.

Jose Anderson started today’s game with a single and double to lift his season average to .198.

If he can get a hit in 1 of his next 2 at-bats, he’ll reach .200. C’mon Jose!

AAA Nashville and Gwinnett have resumed yesterday’s rain-suspended 0-0 game with the bases loaded and nobody out for the Stripers in the 1st inning.

RHP Jake Woodford is the first pitcher of the day, entering to attempt to clean up this inherited mess.

This week’s home series is tied 2-2 and they’ll play a second game after this one.

I really hope Fischer doesn't turn out to be Joey Gallo.

From 2017 to 2021 BRef has Gallo down for 2,248 PA of 117 OPS+ for 14.6 WAR despite his 36% K rate.

Gallo also got a WAR boost as the rare 3TO guy with good soft skills at +10 on the bases and +34 in the field over that peak run.

If Fischer ends up at 1B with the other infield talent in the system he’ll probably need to hit for closer to a 125 OPS+ to get similar value as Gallo.

T-Rats with a huge offensive output - thanks to Ragsdale and Payne, and the aforementioned Bitonti.

Pitching wise Owens was fine: 6H, 2 ER, 2BB and 3 K in 5 IP. But Yerlin Rodriguez with a good outing- his WHIP and walks are trending down and if he can have average command this could be an arm that rockets up the organization but so far in his career that has been so elusive.

Shuckers lose 4-3, as they only had 3 more hits other than the Boeve and Fischer HRs. And pitching-wise, too many walks issued.  Birchard takes the loss in a hitless inning pitched where he gave up 5 walks!! Birchard is another one who just cannot command the strike zone often enough.  Hard to hit and gets Ks, but walks about 1.4 batters per inning. Wagoner has a scoreless inning and hopefully he gets back to more scoreless outings like he had been doing until earlier this week.

Henderson dominating thru 2. No hits, no walks, 5 K. Getting him back in MKE’s rotation will be huge.

Not just for the rotation.  He threw 50 dominant pitches, fanning 7.  Would think he'd be good for 65-70 his next outing.  Would that be with the Brewers for a 4-5 inning stint?

With this 15 game/14 day stretch of games I think they have to let him finish getting stretched out of the pen.

There are 5-6 candidates for either filling out the back of the rotation or being bulk BP guys. It'll be interesting to see who fills what role---or maybe 'all hands on deck' for awhile, piggybacks, spot starts, etc.

Which do you regret not having in your Top 20 more - Ragsdale or Bitonti? For me, it's Bitonti!

Ragsdale must be on the cusp of Biloxi, right? Boeve has been playing quite a bit of OF but seems to me there's room if they move Hurtubise back to AAA.

Ragsdale is getting promoted on Tuesday.

I was at the game, and Yerlin did NOT have a good outing.  No damage was done, but he made it interesting, and had no control.  First batter he walked with 4 pitches that were nowhere near the strike zone, and his first pitch he threw to the backstop.  From there he walked the tightrope with no command at all.

One hit, one walk, and 2 Ks doesn't sound too bad, but man, there were times he had no idea where the ball was going, or it appeared that way.  Guys were not digging in on him that's for sure.

ok, that's why I don't rely on the box scores, but his line did look pretty good so there was that 😂
