Getting Suarez has nothing to do with this year. He was a rental. Would he have paid off? Who knows but Durbin was adequate. So by your own count you are up 6 you don't really trust which is about what I thought. I'm give or take 7-8. The mission is to get the number down to 2-3.

Just to be clear, I was talking on the whole Brewers team not just starters that change every day anyway.  Brewers Ranked 2 best team in the MLB again. https://www.mlb.com/news/power-rankings-for-week-of-june-28-2026

Agree maybe add Turang.

A couple weeks ago, I would have. He's proving to be as susceptible to way too long of a slump as other, lesser hitters. A slump to me is a week, maybe two of struggling. I'm sure others have their own parameters on that. Now is the time to keep his own self evaluation in check and offer a reasonable, fair but team friendly extension.

In a typical 3-game MLB Wild Card Series, only about 14 to 17 players are used in high-leverage situations, while the remaining 9 to 12 players either do not play at all or only enter during low-leverage blowouts.

In the longer Division Series (DS) and Championship Series (CS), the high leverage core expands slightly to 16 to 19 players, while the number of completed unused players drops significantly.

Most of the additional usage is on the pitching side, with more starters and relievers needed to get through the longer series.

More bench players might be deployed in favorable matchups.

Here's my best attempt at trust tiers...

Guys Who Should Get MVP Votes
Turang, Contreras, Chourio

Solid Starters
Bauers, Vaughn, Mitchell

Solid Starters Having Down Years
Yelich, Frelick (Sal picking it up this month)

Perfectly Cromulent Backup Catcher
Sanchez

Left Side of the Infield
Pratt, Hamilton, Ortiz

13th Man
Perkins

[barring injury, at least eleven of those thirteen probably aren't going anywhere regardless of how much any of us trusts them or not. Would be nice to find one reliable bat for the Left Side of the Infield mix, but not sure if that guy will be on the trade market this year.]

Playoff Rotation
Misio, Harrison, Woodruff, Henderson

High Leverage Relievers
Megill, Uribe, Ashby

Other Options
Drohan, Sproat, Koenig, Patrick, Anderson, Hall

[right now I would say my personal trust line ends at Koenig, though Patrick (182 IP of 88 ERA- | 90 FIP-), Anderson (102 IP of 80 ERA- | 99 FIP-) and Hall (112 IP of 89 ERA- | 100 FIP-) wouldn't necessarily be the worst last three guys in the bullpen given their run prevention history with the Brewers (even if the peripherals have been less impressive).

Personally I'd expect them to add a couple two tree arms to the mix at the deadline (Tyson Hardin is the only other guy currently in the org that I think has a chance to be impactful rest of season) with hopefully at least one acquisition that can confidently slot into the High Leverage group.]

The other options list is questionable to me, this is the one that needs improvement and I thought Logan Henderson had back spasms which brings me to my point.  We need just one more reliable arm for the long road ahead (meaning: to the playoffs in Oct.)

Other Options:
Drohan, Sproat, Koenig, Patrick, Anderson, Hall, Gasser

I added Gasser to the other options list because to me he is a once through the order pitcher or 3 innings max.

Chourio is simultaneously someone I trust the most to pulverize a ball and most fear waving at a sweeper out of the zone.
