Guy is from Bleacher Nation and has over 56,000 followers on X so seemed pretty reliable to me.

The guy cited is a reliable journalist for Bleacher Nation (or at least he was, no doubt he takes a credibility hit if this does not go down)

Two reputable sources almost immediately discredited the report. Very few actual reporters with info. If it’s not Sherman, Passan, Heyman or Murray good chance it’s not credible.

Yup. MLB Trade rumors doesn’t just run with every random Twitter source and post. 

Sometimes sources get it wrong. Or maybe  he ends up being right, who knows. But it wasn’t a troll/pretender account.
