A little love to JoJo Romero. Very quietly was a bulldog in the playoffs. 8 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11K.

Romero impressed me when he pitched against the Brewers. I was glad when they brought him in. Was pretty meh with May and Senzatela, but they served their roles.

Hot take, but I'm going to say that both of the May/JoJo and Senzatela trades were successful.

JoJo was excellent, however.  Very good in the regular season and had ice in his veins for the post season - 8IP, 1 ER, 11K.

Senzatela struggled in the regular season and had that "oh no, here is another Chaffin" feel to the trade. But was very, very good in the post season, especially against Tampa.  He had some very key innings in games 3-4 with a lot of pitches thrown. 9IP, 2ER,

May was the weak link of the three.  Very bad in the regular season, he was serviceable in Post season.  Often with our defense not helping him. If nothing else, his presence lit a fire (much like his hair) in the IGTs... 😂

Maybe I have a lower opinion of the guys we sent off for these three players, but I think the trade was certainly worth it... Hard to win the WS without JoJo and Senz.

For the short-term, the Peralta trade did certainly hurt.  Not sure what Freddy would've provided us if he stayed, but certainly more than Woody did.  Sadly, Freddy didn't look great in the WS (nor in prior year's playoffs), but was solid against the NYY and CLE.

For that one, we just have to hope they can fix Sproat and Jett has a bounce back season. Short term loss,,, but hopefully a long term gain.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Agreed my only thing is I'm going to call it the JoJo Romero trade not the Dustin May trade like we all originally considered it.

We won the World Series and all 3 players contributed. Yes it was a success.

Exactly. This was why I endorsed the seemingly lopsided Danny Jansen trade last season, too. He didn't contribute with his play, but with his presence. Luis Lara helped the Brewers win the World Series, despite not contributing on the field in any meaningful way, just by being available.

Dustin May pitched 4 innings in the World Series for the World Champions allowing 2 ER. Extrapolating those numbers out against a regular season opponent is the equivalent of a quality start. No small contribution.

You brought up a good point as well in how DEEP this team is. Let's say the Rays win a couple more and this series goes to 6 or 7 games. Sal and Bauers get hurt on their diving plays. We could plug in Lara and Vaughn and not miss a beat. I don't remember other Brewers playoff teams having this kinda depth. It's pretty insane.
