Who Should Be Brewers' September Call-Ups?

Naylor, Romero and Ortiz. I know you only get two, but I have no idea if Joey is still on the roster. Someone should ask Murph.  Better production against both lefties AND righties and an elite defender, but damn Hamilton can bunt!

Naylor has been beyond dreadful offensively this year, so I can’t see him getting many ABs. He may start a game … in late September once all seeding is locked and there is nothing to play for. 

I think this probably more of a way to get Sanchez a little more involved against LHP without risk.

The deal with the Cardinals has been a real dud so far so I hope Romero can be a real asset out of the pen and help us feel better about it.

That's an odd statement, considering he played virtually every game the last couple weeks. Are you still thinking of early August?

That teams only get 2 September call ups is another baseball over correction. They have the pace of play changes in effect (pitch clock, 3 batter rule) which largely eliminate the reason they reduced the number of call ups.

The Brewers starters are running on fumes and sure could use some reinforcements to lighten the load besides a one inning reliever who hasn’t pitched in the majors for weeks.

Ironically, it was Doug Melvin who cried foul that it was unfair the Cardinals used their superior minor league depth to get an advantage down the stretch.
