I was trying to figure out why the players were looking at all the bottles, like surely these dudes aren’t trying to find the ‘Winter, WI’ bottle.

They were looking at player names.

Very cool. I'd love to know how many there were.

Anyone else strangely subdued?? I just can't put my finger on it. I got misty eyed a few times watching post game but nothing viscerally euphoric or emotional.

Yeah, same. The radio call got me a bit but otherwise the way they did it just felt too surreal to process in any way other than relief and job well done. I had convinced myself that this series would be a dogfight and it ended up being anti-climatic although the Hamilton HR was such a ridiculous sign from the baseball gods that I finally kicked into celebration mode. But the overwhelming feeling is "job not done". Kicking the '82 monkey off our backs is not the true goal here. There's another part of this story that hasn't been written yet.

Been posting here since 2005-ish. I haven't been to any of meetups or met anyone here in person but I love the community that we have and the shared suffering we've been though. I've lived all over the place and being a Brewers fan has always kept me grounded in my roots and where I grew up. It makes me proud to be from Wisconsin and be a fan of this team.

I hope I get to go to a World Series game but I put my eggs in the "can't miss game 7 no matter what" basket so we'll see how that plays out.

Somewhat related topic: I was wondering, which Brewers on the current roster will we be celebrating decades from now? Who are the ones who will be throwing out opening day pitches and be part of alumni celebrations for the next generation? Similar to the 1982 players.

Obviously, the work is not done and we need to celebrate more than LCS championships.

Brother, I still celebrate Pete Ladd and Rob Piccolo.
