It’s a 3-1 series lead man. Rays still have to win 3 straight. You have Miz, Henderson and Gasser next 3 games

They are in a good spot. It sucks because they had the kill shot right there and Murphy decided to play it safe. Let’s see what happens tomorrow

Problem is Miz and Henderson are both clearly exhausted. Miz pitched fine in game 1, but Henderson looks completely lost out there. Taxing the pen the way we did tonight places so much more pressure on our youngest pitchers. Awesome if they can rise to the occasion, but it sure would be nice if the bats made some sort of contribution tomorrow. Bauers, Yeli, Contreras, Turang and Mitchell combined to go 0/22 with 6 Ks. I don’t care how hard they’re hitting it, that is a pathetic performance in game 4 of the WS.

All I know is the bats need to come alive tomorrow, or at this point, tonight. I don't know how much we can ask of our bullpen. The offense shares some blame for this loss too.

I will 100% roll the dice with the Bats hitting the ball tomorrow like they did tonight. If we had 18 of the 21 hardest hit balls and it's 2-2 again tomorrow in extras, then... I'll just chalk it up to the Baseball gods.

I'll probably read through all of this later, but, oof. That was an epic game that just lacked the right ending. From where I was sitting, it seemed like basically the whole third base side was Brewer fans. Coop's HR was like Jackson's walkoff except the game wasn't over, and then...ugh.

The good news is they hit the heck out of the ball and Tampa's BP is not going to be in a good spot tomorrow. I still like our chances.

Sure wish it had been great in the 13th inning of the World Series tonight.

Ok, so just to be sure I understand this. You wish he HADN'T made an error?

And that lines up with your "haven't been hearing a lot of..." however you worded it about Ortiz playing 3rd late in the game?

You start with one point and then... it's a totally different.

So a guy could come up, hit 5 118 MPH Line Drives and... that doesn't matter to you?

That doesn't inform how they're hitting the ball?

It's Baseball. You get outliers. That's EXACTLY what this game was. Calling it "pathetic," *****, ESPECIALLY Bauers, that's... just a terrible take. "I don't care if his xBA was .770, .570, .520... pathetic!"

C'mon!

It's really too bad this had to happen & spoil the national coming-out party (I say national because Brewer fans should already be aware) for Cooper Pratt. This kid can pick it (yes, he's had some rookie yips) & has seen his offensive numbers head northward AFTER moving up from AAA, and actually taking another leap forward in the post season, culminating in a WS-winning HR that wasn't, through no fault of his own. Four-for-five.

I think any manager who has a LHP in his pen, regardless of who it is, is going to use that LHP vs Hicks in that situation. Harrison over Drohan, that can be debated in hindsight.

Woodruff being off limits today? I suspect so, but that's a good question. Either way, he wasn't going to be used for Hicks-DeLuca-Simpson.

Woody isn’t facing that pocket, but every other guy in the pen is asked to either provide length or pitch on consecutive days. If he is only capable of pitching extremely low leverage innings and can’t be asked to enter a game deep into extra innings, then what are we doing here. I’d rather have Patrick, Anderson or Stallings on the roster.

It was brutal, but my GOD... we're 3-1 in the World Series... something PROBABLY the most negative poster on the board had to point out became 3-1 after the loss when I'd pointed out the negativity during a game in which we hammered the ball, played good Baseball, hit line drives all over the place and people were so down on a team that is REAL close to getting it's 114th win and a World Series!

Lets RALLY around this team! Negativity is a choice...  it sucks, but we've got TWO more games before we'd be facing elimination. You'd think we're down 3-1 right now!

LOL... same people who'd watch a guy square up a FB, hit it 117 with a 28 LA, catch it 410 feet away on a rope, but say the pop up that falls between 3 players was more consequential!

I mean the deserve to win had the brewers at like 90% almost tonight because of how hard they hit the ball

But the Brewers probably been lucky the last month in some of the games and usually evens out

Why are you focusing on Bauers when Mitchell K’d 5 times? The loss tonight was not on Murphy or Joey or even Drohan. It was on the offense not capitalizing on the Rays mistakes. Bauers striking out after the dropped pop up is one thing, but all night the whole lineup was hacking at pitches they had no business swinging at. They seem to have forgotten what it means to “Win our way.”

Let’s hope the remember tomorrow

If that's the case, yeah. I'm not sure we know the answer though because like you said, he wasn't going to be used in the 12th.I'd like to know if he was good tonight if there was a 13th, 14th, whatever.

I obviously don't know but I get the feeling Patrick was just done for '26---dead arm, soreness, whatever. Anderson & Stallings are legitimate calls.

What if Gasser had been used to close out the game? He's pitched better than Miz this postseason, correct?

Gasser wasn’t gonna pitch today after throwing like 75 pitches yesterday

Just got home from Game 4

every brewer fan in section 313 would have used Miz in the 12th and gone for the win.

it is what it is and we’ll regroup tomorrow, but that was the first time in the playoffs that o felt we didn’t “go for the win”

Both Jax & Martinez had them chasing the changeup. They can do that to people. Unfortunately it happened tonight.

Brewer hitters didn't have many favorable counts, that had a lot to do with it.

Because you mentioned Bauers, a guy who CRUSHED the ball all night.

So why'd YOU focus on Bauers?

THIS... this is why.
Contreras hit 106.1 with an xBA of .710
Turang 104.6 with an xBA of .460... etc....

So if you meant that MITCHELL had a poor game, fine... but you LITERALLY also said "I don't care how hard they're hitting it."

That's silly.

You also said Mis, he with the 2.13 FIP in the post-season is "exhausted."

So don't ask ME why I didn't focus on the one player you ACTUALLY meant to talk about.

It’s ridiculous to hope they remember to “win our way” rather than swinging for the fences every AB?

The Brewers struck out 1,383 times in 162 regular-season games in 2026, averaging 8.54 strikeouts per nine-inning game.

Baseball Reference+1

Here's the comparison:

Strikeouts

2026 regular season, per 9 innings

8.54

Expected over 12 innings

11.38

World Series Game 4 (12 innings)

11

So Milwaukee actually struck out slightly less often than its regular-season average, adjusting for the extra innings.... BUT HIT THE BALL HARDER....

7/10 lowest EV came from the Rays

The game was amazing, didn’t work out.  Turned on a couple key plays

- the non-call on the clear out of the base path (Rays 2nd run)

- the inability of the brewers to hit with RISP

- the decision to pull Megill after 1 batter

- Hamilton & Pratt’s HRs
