6/27/2004 - Brewers (Davis) @ Twins (Lohse)

It's another pitching matchup that on the surface favors the Brewers, as Kyle Lohse has been on the bad side of mediocre this year.

MLB.com preview:

It'd be huge to take two out of three here, basically canceling out the series loss against Colorado at Miller Park.

And yes, while Coors Field and PNC Park have not been kind to the Brewers, after today, the road trip is seven games against two teams a combined 32 games under .500.

Speaking of getting ahead of ourselves http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif , it gets a bit repetitive, but it's worth saying again -- the wild-card leaders have exactly one fewer loss than the Brewers do. Here's your wild-card standings and focus in on that loss column -- heck, with Friday's doubleheader, the Crew can finally start making up these "games-in-hand":

Enjoy your Sunday, folks!

Not sure if you're serious or not but the idea is that games already lost are lost forever whereas games not played can be wins.

Kinda curious to see red-hot Keith Ginter out of the lineup. At least Brady Clark's absence continues...

Today's lineups are brought to you by Henry Blanco, who is hoping to "top" Gary Bennett with a sub-.200 batting average.

Go team.

We're gonna lose (says my Brain, not my heart)

#1- we stink on sundays

#2- we stink during day games

#3- we stink against bad pitchers

Based on the above, I predict a 5-1 loss.... but, should the baseball gods smile on us today, i could possibly see a 3-2 win... (winning run scoring on a wild pitch)

Valid points, but we also have DD pitching today, who is the man and has about a bajillion quality starts to lead the ML (with Sheets)

Atleast theirs looks equally bad...

But we're facing their worst pitcher, they are facing our second best pitcher...

Scott trying to steal third in the first was S-T-U-P-I-D

this has the feeling of a 2-0 game today

I know you can't gave an error on an attempt to rob a homerun, but it looked like Torrii Hunter just tanked that one. He made it look like an easy catch that was dropped.

Anyway, HR for Overbay.

LOL Tom...

Hopefully this one ends up being a 2-0 final! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif

Whats up with Doug Davis and the extra base hits today... didn't he have a streak or something going of innings without an XBH, or was that just not allowing a HR?

Dougie continues to pitch out of jams though, what can i say

GO CREW!

Anybody think Ginter may play better when he has to fight for a spot? When he gets a starting job it seems like he presses too much, but if he's coming in off the bench or spot starting he does much better. Is it a coincidence he's heating up now that Helms is close to returning? Maybe, but it's interesting to discuss anyway.

That wasn't an intentional walk was it?? Let's go, Lyle.

Wow wow wow....

For all the people who bash Yost's in-game managing, the way that Gardenhire managed the 7th is nothing short of idiotic.

Who needs bats?

This is a wonderful moment, when walk freaks and RBI freaks can join hands in harmony. Thanks, Minnesota pitching staff.
