I like the Hall steal to set out the RBI op. Just because I know the steal is a tough percentage play doesn't mean I don't like it especially with Scotty 15-1 success ratio, and Hall's been pretty good too. Now Cap with the Lead-off double let's add on!

Yeah, I don't get the bunt either. I know Ned isn't a Jamesian by any means, but playing for one run in the third inning? Granted, Pods is normally is pretty good bunter, but jeez.

I'm not watching the game, and don't have access to radion, but I am kind of glad that Yost had Pods bunt.

I have really felt that while the offense was struggling, it was do in large part to an inability to play small ball. Not bunting when they should, not getting balls to the right side of the diamond. Failing to hit sacrfices, advance runners, etc...

I like the idea of the bunt because of who the runner was. Pitchers have to be dealt with conservatively on the basepaths, often as station to station runners. Especially with his recent injury problems, I wouldn't want to see him trying to score from second base even in a remotely close situation at home plate.

Okay folks, that last half-inning (top of the 4th) is a problem I've seen time and time again with the team, but Cappy's performance is an example.

Cappy had Winn and Cabrera ont he ropes at 0-2, but he couldn't close the deal. He gave up back-to-back extra-base hits...

LESSON HERE: When they're on the ropes, FINISH THEM OFF! If you don't it will come back to bite you.

BTW, Overbay streak at 14.

EDIT:

The Mariners WANT to face Capuano, after that last AB?

There we go Billy!

"Productive out" by Grieve(somewhat unlucky as it hit the rubber), that's a phrase I don't mind hearing with a runner at third and less than 2 outs.

Oh, and Cappy, next time you get `em to an 0-2 count, FINISH THEM!

I'm confused. By that comment do you mean to infer that Cap didn't WANT to finish him, or went about it the wrong way? What exactly did he do that made you think he wasn't trying to finish him?

Um, he walked an American League pitcher?

He didn't close the deal by getting the out.

OOOoooo, he didn't finish him. I get it. Well, I'll send him an email to let him know he should close the deal by getting batters out. I'm sure it will help him alot.
