9/27/2007 Padres (Cassel) at Brewers (Gallardo): 7:05 PM CDT

[davemakovec]

Wow, I go downstairs to eat dinner, and this is what I come back up to. Yeesh.

This Cassel guy is cruising. Not a good start to the series. Time's running out on this season, Brewers. If you want to extend it, you have to win games.

Well, study time.

[MoneyballMan]

I guess this is just confirming that they aren't ready. There's a ton of raw talent, but they just don't have the experience and cojones yet to win.

By the way, this movie is great - I haven't seen this in years! AND, I forgot about hot Donna Dixon was in this movie!

[And That]

We've been in this spot before, on the Padres side. Lets make the Padres feel like the Brewers.

[SeriesFinale]

Well, not putting the leadoff man on is a start

[SeriesFinale]

Did Jenks just make a miracle catch? It looked like it online.

[JET15]

If it must happen, I think I'd rather see the Brewers miss out on the postseason by having both them and the cubs win out. Not by both teams losing out. My goodness.

I'm with you. I pretty much said the same thing in an earlier post... it justifies people bashing the NLC teams... we suck

[SoCal Brew Crew Fan]

What are Gabe's splits like pre & post beard?

[hurricanecrush]

How was that first pitch to Rickie a strike?

[Jim Goulart]

In 465 AB's at AAA in 2002, Bill Hall had what some might consider the worst statistical season of a "prospect" in the modern era. Granted, he was only 22:

465 AB's, .228 AVG, only 25 BB, 105 K's, .272 OPB, .301 SLG, .573 OPS

That's the Bill Hall we're seeing now.

[SoCal Brew Crew Fan]

atta boy JJ

[madjeff66]

Anyone else think Black is doing us a favor by pulling Cassel right here

[naivin]

I may be off my nut, but if the Brewers want to go to the playoffs, I'm thinking someone in the lower half of the order is going to have to get a hit before the season is over.

[SoCal Brew Crew Fan]

Here's where you earn that MVP big fella!!!

[SoCal Brew Crew Fan]

Our record against our cast-offs has not been good lately

[Jim Goulart]

Joe Thatcher of the Linebrink trade coming in.

[RyDogg66]

Joe Thatcher coming in. We sure could use a guy like him in our bullpen, I wonder what it would take to get a guy like that in a trade.

[Jim Goulart]

Joe, I've rooted for you since Helena, but a meatball to Prince here, please.

[tigerbrew]

Wow, Joe Thatcher called in to face Prince.

[fondybrewfan]

This AB seems kind of ironic

[SoCalBrewfan]

I may be off my nut, but if the Brewers want to go to the playoffs, I'm thinking someone in the lower half of the order is going to have to get a hit before the season is over.

As someone said, isn't that Ned's 1982 reply dream come true?

Gotta say, seeing Thatcher here pains me, given what we gave up along with him and how effective he's been...

[brains and braun]

Yuck

[DuluthBrew]

Hey that's what a bullpen looks like! Novel concept

[tigerbrew]

Joe does his job, what a trade.

[JET15]

I am soooo sick of leaving the bases loaded. How many times has it been in the last 2 games alone? Ridiculous

[And That]

Ha ha ha, Joe Thatcher beats us.
