Deep, passionate...loves?

While i realize it's thoroughly unlike me to be an optimist at any level, I've decided to take a moment and show mad love and appreciation for the important things in life.

Let's start with:

http://z.about.com/d/animatedtv/1/0/Q/k/met_band_500.jpg

Oh, sweet jumping baby jeebus I love me some Metalocalypse. The series is awesomely funny, and the music...the music, dear god, it's legitimately outstanding heavy metal music. It's brutal. Blacker than the blackest black. It's easily the best animated series on TVat this point, at least until Venture Bros. returns.

Also deeply and passionately loved include:

-Barbeque chicken and Spare Ribs. At the same time, even.

-Bioshock (the game)

-Zombie Movies

-Strongbow Hard Cider

-Hunter S. Thompson (hardly a surprise at this juncture)

-My girlfriend (over 50% of the time, at least)

-whining, crying Cub fans who can't accept the stark reality that Their team just wasn't MEANT to be successful.

-Goth chicks. yes, I'm aware that I'm weird.

-Halloween (the holiday, not the movie, although that isn't bad either.)

-And, of course, the Milwaukee Brewers.

So should I ever meet up with any of you guys, we now have some talking points.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smokin.gif

Angelo Stefano, he's my hero.

Oh, and the San Diego Chargers when they give LT the ball,

the Michigan Wolverines when Carr doesn't go uber conservative,

Merc 1 shows when Stefano and some "Byron" guy do the announcing,

metal, adult video stars (female), guitar hero, having indepth, sub-moronic disscusons with my friends over subjects like who has a better metal scream? S. Bach or Bruce Dickinson, why the Greys never abduct people with genius IQs for their expieriments, why drinking beer out of a can is a crime, why is an average red head more attractive than a hotter blonde, madden 08, and arguments with a 2 year old girl that breaks down to "You're weird!" "No, YOU'RE weird!" and everyone laughing...

Soccer, easily my number one. I transferred high schools because the one where I live doesn't have it. I've played it, coached it, referee it, helped out with tournaments, just about anything. I've even invented a game called soccer tennis with my friends. I love watching the World Cup and English Premier League games.

Others:

-Ska music

-Going to concerts

-Driving

-Long road trips by myself

-Driving on a summer evening with the windows down

-Standing around talking about nothing for hours

-The crispness of fall

I love Culvers and make it a regular part of my return trips to Wisconsin.

I love the pace of Manhattan on a weekend--still busy, but not quite as frantic.

I love trips to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

I love Uecker.

I love Peter Gammons & Kurkjian.

I love Door County.

I love pinball and Skeeball.

That's pretty much it--besides my family.

The Brewers (Duh. But really, I started following them in 1982 , a good seven years before I met my S.O.).

Milwaukee County Stadium.

Miller Park (not as much as County, but it's catching up).

Hot fudge and raspberry sundae from Gilles Frozen Custard, preferably after a Brewer win.

The city of Madison and UW-Madison, where I've felt at home from day one.

Potato pancakes.

The library where I work.

Chocolate cake.

Flannel sheets and a cozy quilt.

That's a start...

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I'll have to hunt out the beer. But I have to call you out for not itemizing: jalapeños, habaneros, chiles, Tobasco, and anything Cajun.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Habanero, Tobasco, Cajun (mmmm...), honestly, basically anything that's really, really spicy I like. I know there are a lot of Thai dishes that provide the requisite thump - come to think of it, a lot of Asian cuisines pack some wallop. I'm just too uneducated there to know what is what.

Btw, the Dane Tri-pepper combo is - jalapeno, habanero, and poblano. They juice peppers fresh each time they brew a batch. And I'm not kidding you to say that my mouth is almost literally watering right now thinking about it. Soooo gooooood...

-Zombie Movies

Agreed -- There is not anything you need to know about the human condition that isn't covered in zombie movies.

-Ska music

I am a ska pimp

I love Door County.

Yep -- Esp. this time of year.

The city of Madison and UW-Madison, where I've felt at home from day one.

This is how I feel about Madison.

Spicy, spicy, spicy food.

Amen. Life is too short to be eating a lot of Cream of Mushroom casserole dishes.

I love road trips and exploring the USA with the wife and kids.

I love when my wife and daughters leave for the weekend to Michigan to see my brother-in-laws family, and I get to spend a weekend at home with the boy.

Thanksgiving is hard to beat as well as Christmas with just the wife and kids.

I love watching movies with my wife as well.
