  1. Natalie Portman I have a ton of restrictions and requirments when it comes to people I am willing to date. I actually have a 22 question 100 point questionaire. From what I know about Natalie Portman she would score pretty highly. Vegetarian 10 points (10 possible) Active in politics 10 points (10 possible) Democrat 7 points (10 possible) Moderately religious dosen't believe in afterlife 5 points (10 possible) That right there is more than 1/3rds of my "questionaire" and she scores well. Gah I am such a dork! edit: ugh changed 2/3 to 1/3 which is accurate
  2. This is as good a place as any to ask it. Why is Odorizzi's nickname eggs? Is it because his name seems to come close to over-easy if said fast or is it because all he does is lay eggs on the scoreboard?
  3. A couple names that stuck out to me. Rafael Soriano - Good - When healthy dominant reliever. Bad - Rarely healthy Should be relatively cheap, 1 year 6.5 million or 2 year 10 million Dan Wheeler - Has been a very good reliever 4 out of the last 5 years Rocco Baldelli - Pure gamble. Could be the future CFer, more than likely AAA roster filler if he can stay healthy. Oliver Perez - Another high risk player. Most likely will recieve a contract similar to Gil Meche, inflation adjusted. If Perez is going to get 5 years 60-70 million I would hope the Brewers wouldn't be involved. If it is closer to 3 year 35-40 million he might, MIGHT be worth looking into.

  8. SenatorShriv I you sir are a genious. That is actually an amazing first date option and is standard practice for me. Going to a psychic, palm reader, tarot card reader etc., is an extremely fun option. It is something unique, at least I thought it was until the Senator brought it up. It's great because it jump start's the convesation. It is great for getting to know someone's personality and a bit about them without getting to deep. Go to a psychic, after that head to a coffee shop for some good old fashioned conversation. For dinner Sushi is always fun, vegitarian friendly also. After that a piano bar is fun. More relaxed and condusive to conversation.
  9. I really don't know what Teahen would provide. He is hitting .238/.268/.648 vs. Lefties and .252/.326/.733 vs. righties. Those numbers are less than stellar. His career numbers are much better, .279/.347/.786 vs. righties. Teahen also hasn't played 3rd base since 2006 and in 237 games at 3rd base he has 34 errors, a less than stellar total. Teahan would make a nice addition if the Brewers could get him on the super cheap, Gillespie and Pena style. I know that is an offer that would be rejected by the Royals but I just don't see how Teahen fits into the Brewers plans. Hall/Teahan is equal to or slightly worse than Hall/Branyan.
  10. Hypothetically whould if Giles was traded here, and his option was turned into a player option, could the Brewers still offer him arbitration and get compensation for him?
  11. I don't see how there is any validity to the inclusion of Salome in almost any trade with San Fransisco. They just drafted Buster Posey this years uber-leet catching prospect, and one who probably should and will be fast tracked. Salome dosen't make sense to be a player that they are targeting when they have a fabulous catching prospect soon to be flying through their minors. If the deal is Durham and Taschner, then yes maybe he brought up Salome or Brantley but there is no way those two players warrant giving up a prospect of that status. If the deal is for Cain, which is pure rumor, speculation and innuendo then Sabean could ask for and receive almost any prospect he wanted. Salome is not leaving, not in this trade at least.
  12. Haha, I was just wondering why I've been having problems connecting to the internet. This is probably why.
  13. The Labryinth Legend The Princess Bride
  14. His problems, at least his lack of productive starts, began during that 17 inning debacle a few weeks back. After that game where he came in, for 3-5 innings of relief. After that it was shaky start after shaky start. Edison Volquez also came in, in relief that game.
  15. What about Milton Bradley? Does he get dealt it the Rangers don't start pulling closer to the Angels, or the A's for that matter. Milton Bradley is having an MVP caliber year (that OBP makes me drool), but is a Free Agent at the end of the year. He will be a Type A Free Agent next year (correct me if I am wrong) so he will cost an arm and a leg to get. Most likely the Rangers, if they fall out of contention, would want Starting Pitching if they are going to trade Bradley so the Brewers wouldn't match up. I can still hope though.

  17. Thanks for all the info you pass on to us Agent39. Like most of us here I am hoping that both Michael Brantley and Taylor Green are part of the Brewers organization for a very, very long time.
  18. Cliff Saunders? Who? That idiot. How does that guy have a job. I don't know him so I guess I get to bash him. I googled him and found out he is a Milwaukee area radio host, and I totally understand your frustration. I am constantly amazed at how little, local talk show hosts know about the minor league teams of thehome club. I'm not expecting a comprehensive knowledge of all players but every radio host should have a subscription to Baseball America, or at least the yearly handbook, and yes of course bf.net should be set as their homepage but that dosen't just apply to people who make their living talking sports on the radio that applies to everyone.
  19. This sucks, not the trade of course, but the not knowing who the final piece of the prospect puzzle is going to be. Shapiro's comment of the player "has an outside shot at being an everyday major leaguer," can be taken an number of different ways. Most logically a prospect that isn't a sure bet to be an everyday major leaguer after he works his way through the minors. Taylor Green seems like a solid bet to at least a decent major leaguer, so perhaps it isn't him. Players that I would think fit the "outside shot" mold: Gwynn Jr., Gillespie, Errecart, Cain, Brewer. Or perhaps the rumor that came out earlier did have some legitamacy that the player Cleveland recieves means that the player is determinite on how well the Brewers do over a set time period. In which case anyone is up for grabs even JJ or Rickie. This isn't likely but is exponetially more terriffing. My guess, and I do definitely say that this is my guess, is that the players are Brent Brewer, Lorenzo Cain, or Caleb Gindl.
  20. Well, it sounds like the PTBNL might have been used just to expidite the CC to Milwaukee part of the trade. The Brewers obviously wanted CC for 2 start's before the All Star gam, and Shapiro obviously wanted to do his due diligence and get the best possible players. So just my opinion but the odds are the the Indians have a short list of players to choose from, probably including Green, LuCroy, Gillespie, or someone else in that realm of prospect 5-15 in the Brewers organization. I hope that it isn't another pitcher though, Hammond, Miller, Braddock et al.
  21. Thank you Agent39. That does make me happy to hear. I just can't stand the waiting.
  22. If the deal really is LaPorta, Green and LuCroy, then I am just hoping that something else is coming the Brewers way. I have no problem giving up LaPorta for the 3 months of Sabathia. I do, however, think that giving up LuCroy and Green is alot for compensatory picks. I know that isn't as cut and dried as that, but, nonetheless it is how I look at the trade.
  23. I was just voting for the last 45 minutes, 100-150 times. I went Brian Roberts on the other side. Come on guys lets set the goal high, 100,000 votes from the Brewerfan.net nation. We collectively have no life, and let's prove that to the nation! Vote non-stop until CC is a Brewer.
  24. Brantley was among the list of players that Melvin said that he wouldn't be trading more than one. Like most people I am nervous of what Brantley's value is/will be but he is one of the few Brewers prospects that is willing/able to take a walk. Even though I am nervous I don't want to see him go, especially tag teamed to another one of the big four. I hope the rumor from a few post's back is true, that the Indians are trying to hold out for Green or Brantley. I would love to see the trade come down and it be for LaPorta, Cain, and Axford or some similar combination. (LaPorta, Gillespie, and Axford)
