    What's Trenni's updated WARR (Wins Above Replacement Reporter)? I think we're very lucky to have a sideline reporter that actually doesn't waste most of the viewers' time with 'Hey! Look at THESE crazy fans!' crap. I think Trenni could very realistically get a shot at p-b-p sometime down the road. She really does her homework & is a consummate professional on-air.

    Arbitration clocks don't start but you have to A) have added them to the 40-man roster b) paid them major league minimum while they're here. I've looked a lot into this, and as far as I can tell, September callups absolutely start accruing MLB service days. I'm not 'calling you out', MSC, as I would genuinely love to finally see a definitive answer on September callups & service days... do you have proof to that claim? Every little bit of info I've ever found states that they start burning service time.

    This may be obvious, so I apologize if it is, but I know one of the most important things in training a dog to gun-hunt with you is to get it exposed to the sound of gunshots asap. Dogs have a strong instinct to fear a noise & vibration like that (think 4th of July), and basically just have to unlearn that fear. Again, I apologize if that was blatantly obvious. Not sure how familiar you are or aren't with dogs, Robert. What a cute little guy!

    Third/Fourth/Fifth-ted. I love the Barrelman logo, and it would be such a sweet hat. I know I've seen one, but only one, and unfortunately I didn't go with my instinct to ask the dude I saw wearing it... instead convincing myself, 'Oh, if he's got one, I'll be able to find it' EDIT: Also, the Barrelman hat I saw was different from the one Gobias posted a pic of. My 'ideal' version of it would basically be the hat BC04 just posted above, but instead of the "M" on front, it would be Barrelman.

    my mother is gloating that I really wouldn't amount to nothing and that I should just apply at the factory where my dad works because that's where I was destined to go anyway. With all due respect, as she is your mother, that sucks... and I hope you, in a more diplomatic way than this, tell her to 'stick it'.     Interesting point about the money... I was just thinking that. We've heard since the Sabathia deal how tight the budget supposedly is, so I guess we'll see if that plays a role or not. If we only see 3 or 4 callups, then I think it'd be safe to assume that money was a big factor.

    no, that's correct, razzzor. I checked that myself earlier tonight. I wish Carlos the best in his recovery, and as you said earlier, it's a fairly easy injury from which to return. Glad for Lee in that sense.

    Branyan had a good game again tonight, and his defense was solid. Counsell had the bad Ole! play at 3B Friday night, and in general I think the defensive gap is very much overstated.

    Would Stocker make sense to add if Gwynn was added? I really am unsure. Stocker certainly looked like a great PR option last season. I'm just assuming Gwynn is a no-brainer to get called up, so that could be wrong. I'll be happy to see DeFelice back up, and Nelson seems to be a lock. Iribarren will be a useful bench piece, and I love Crazy Joe Dillon! Probable: Gallardo Probable?

Really glad to hear that Luis is going to be fine. Caution is always the best approach when it comes to an arm (esp. a young one... and as promising as Pena's).     God, the Doorman sucks -- why does everyone like this guy?! Seriously, this is awesome. It's sweet to know that 'the guy that has those awesome seats' is not only a true-blue Brewers fan, but he's also a pretty cool guy.

    Normally I'm not a woulda, coulda, shoulda kind of guy, but I have a hard time getting past that one play. The player to blame is not Johnson, and not Fielder, but Gallardo. Not simply getting out of the way of that play, let alone trying to hop over it, was a poor decision by Yovani.

    As I will say for the final time, Counsell is a better defender than Branyan, and quite apparently, they are choosing to go with him because of his approach at the plate. Choosing to say he is 0-9 and using the tiniest sample available, and then saying Ned should not go with the hot hand...at best, is spinning in circles. What happened to your claim that his OBP is better? Counsell's last 28 days (41 PA): .189/.244/.216/.460 -- Muy caliente! You're the one cherry-picking, DoA. Cousell is a terrible option to have at the plate. The moderate edge he brings on defense doesn't even begin to address the embarrasingly huge gap in offense.

    Part of the discussion or insight from the article is that save conversion percentages are drastically overrated. Without looking at either article, I think the point was made that even an 85% success rate shouldn't be viewed as great.
