  1. Does Guerra have option left for next season? Pretty cut and dried for me, if he has an option nice #6/7 option to have around. If not, move on from him.
  2. Tough decision, I think Adam has it about right. As the unofficial captain of the Freddy Peralta Fan Club, I have to admit there's no room for him. The four starts listed make sense, and no way do I want Peralta coming out of the pen. Gonzalez is interesting, we'll see what he can provide but he may be on the outside looking in as well- for the same reason. I don't want someone out of the pen who walks a lot of guys and has never been a reliever. I would say form Adam's list, remove either Gonzalez/Jennings and add Woodruff, Cedeno. That's as of today of course, subject to change.
  3. Karma is a you know what Hamels. I don't really care what he said, we've been dealing with this for several years now. I just find it odd coming from him. Isn't it enough to turn your season and career around? Going after another teams fans is pretty cheap for an an athlete, it's not like Brewers fans did anything to him. Whatever, karma will have a date with him in the future. You know, I've gone to several Packers road games where it was probably over 50% Packer fans. Healthy dose of friendly ribbing? Sure. But never anything more than that. I've been to two Cubs games at MP, never again. I simply cant enjoy the game with goons shouting at me and family. Last time I couldn't take it and came back at a couple of them. Realized driving home I'm a grown man fighting with others at a ball game. Embarrassing. (To be fair I had a couple really good come backs.) But no more. It wasn't a couple bad apples, I've never seen so many jerks in one place. That's why beating them in the playoffs will be 10 times sweeter. Then they can all be furious that some of their players they never heard of blew it for them.
  4. I also called the VA and let them know there's a lot of cars parked there illegally with IL plates.
  5. Dominos is still horrible. After all the hype about new improved soggy, hardly no sauce weird tasting cheese maybe coshun was right about pizza ranch like 23 bucks with tip for a crappy pizza what the??!! Let's spend less time trying to stuff cheese into crust and just make a good pizza also why is Oktoberfest beer out already? I mean its delicious but I got this on August. Schoop deserved that hit now call the game. I specifically asked for crushed red peppers too. Nope!!!! Dang, nevermind about dominos. This is pizza hut. Dangit still bad.
  6. Waters over a couple other CBs is a little interesting. Trevor Davis sticks, hes the returner.
  7. I don't disagree. Just saying that's what he meant. Right, what I meant is MLB pipeline often knows less than we do about these lower level prospects. I doubt it was based on nothing more than "high draft pick catcher" not even knowing he hasn't even been catching much for a while now.
  8. Pick up one more game vs Cubs this weekend, and it gets real interesting going into the series with them. Take 2/3 and within 2 games with lots of baseball left to be played.
  9. They do though, they have 3 or 4 of them.
  10. I have heard some things as well. I will just add that the me too movement while great in bringing attention to abuse, the side effect is some with an agenda really stretching the definition of consent.
  11. Thames OPS in August? .403. Sure, he could turn it around. But if he doesn't you have a problem. Granderson gives you another LH bat, and increases the odds one of them can provide some offense.
  12. I would rather have Thames on the post season roster than Braun. Maybe. But Braun is actually an OF and RH. Thames has no place on the 25 come October. As of today at least, we'll see.
  13. What's not to like about .788 vs RHP and good defense? Hes not Trout, but solid player that gives you more than Thames, easily. Thames very likely won't be on the post season roster.
  14. Means nothing. They probably thought he was a catcher when that came out. Honestly, our own poll is more current/ accurate than MLB pipeline.
  15. If nats traded him at the deadline they would have gotten two legit prospects for him. Now they get low A ball roster fillers.
  16. Is .788 considered "700 something?" Because I'll take that over Thames, and Granderson is better defensively blindfolded.
  17. 22 year olds who cant hit in low A ball are not prospects. Lester was trash. Nobody wanted him. Had success do far with Cubs, Stearns blew it. Now a similar move for Gonzalez, and Stearns blew it again.
  18. Just going with current players for now. Clay Matthews Nicolas Otamendi Eric Bledsoe Ryan Braun
  19. I now hope they get swept and still make the postseason. Because saying they can't lose this series to the Reds is crazy talk. What is the difference between getting swept today and getting swept in four games on June 21-24? We don't know what other teams are going to do the next month or ourselves. Now can we keep losing series? NO! We gotta start winning games, but these games mean just as much as the ones in September. We hold a postseason spot no matter what methodology you want to use. Saying we HAVE to win games when there are over 20+ to go doesn't make any sense. How we do against the Reds is just wins and losses, nothing more meaningful. It is the overall record that really matters. The Dodgers have the best run differential in the entire NL and aren't even in a postseason slot. Wins and losses...don't care against who for either as long as it is good enough for a postseason spot. +1 I literally saw people using the term "must win" back in June already. I get it, sometimes it seems that way. My guess is people are used to a football season where one game is huge. 30+ games is still a big chunk of the season left, no must win games yet.
  20. I said it above and I'll say it again, the teams record over a 30 game sample is just going to be random. We are likely to win 10, lose 10 and do something with the last 10. The nature of small sample baseball just makes a month worth of games pretty random. Using pieces of data to support your agenda, a Brewerfan.net tradition since 2001. As you said, they could play really mediocre baseball, even bad at times, and back into the playoffs and win it all. That's baseball. In fact, that's sports in general.
  21. Maybe not, but neither is that guy Villarsogardsaladinoperezschooporf.
  22. With no stats to back this up whatsoever, I have more confidence in Guerra than "Box of chocolates" Anderson right now.
  23. What's interesting? I don't hate giving something a shot but let's face the reality that the Colts didn't want him either, regardless of system change. And their defense is baaaaaaad. Good players generally (?) adapt to systems. One scrub for another scrub and hope it ends up benefitting both sides rather than hitting the waiver wire, that's all it is. Colts probably have other players with similar skill set, Packers do not. Doesn't make him a scrub if he's redundant for one team and not another. I've seen some here describe him as a two down LB. That isn't even true anymore. With some offenses he'll rarely even be on the field. Vs others, maybe 1st down. The reason they really need him is 3rd/4th and short and goal line. Need a thumper or two inside, that's what he gives you. Also, have no idea if he plays ST but seems like a guy who might actually be useful there.
  24. Safe-Chacin (on a short leash as anyone would be.) Outside the Box- Hader. Hope you can get 4 clean innings, then depending on the score you react accordingly. With a 4-0 lead you could go to Chacin. If it's 1-1 or something almost treat it like an extra innings game, go to Jeffress for an inning or two, then Soria, etc. High Risk/Reward- Peralta. If he's dealing, gives you the best chance of 6 scoreless. If not, could be behind 3-0 in the 1st in a hurry. Sometimes you need to take risks though. They would never do it, just throwing it out there as an option.
