  1. You really need a couple minutes for YunE to swing at the first pitch? Starting Hairston over Betancourt isn't the only move that would have some benefit. Green can start at 3B and slide over to 2B later in the game. I think moves like these are exactly the type of moves that would effect a 1-0 game. They wouldn't matter much in a 10-0 game.
  2. Yeah they can't put Green in or slide Hairston over to 2B when Weeks gets pulled.
  3. only if the Brewers left would I quit being a Brewers fan. Keeping Kotsay and YunE make being a Brewer fan less fun.
  4. This is plan 9 the one that worked.
  5. McGehee was offered 3/$20m? Also, how is Braun getting on base more a bad thing?
  6. We knew about the reporting late issues in ST. Gamel never reported late. He showed up late to practice twice. He always reported on time. He just didn't report early like many players did. If this was just a Money/Gamel personality issue, Gamel would have already been in the MLB level. I kind of doubt it. He really needed most of this year to work at 1B in the minors. Other than that he has mostly been blocked as a starter and they are really in love with Kotsay(or were before Green) as a bench player.
  7. Gamel was late twice, 3 years ago. That may speak volumes to you but doesn't really say much to me.
  8. What happens in the AL is that you get worse hitting players at almost all positions because everybody gets moved one slot to the left on the defensive spectrum for a defense first player.
  9. Not Money's fault. There really hasn't been a good opportunity for him to play outside of a brief chance in 2009. He has had to toil in the minors for the majority of 3 separate seasons even though in many organizations he would have already been an everyday player in the majors. I am sure Gamel is sick of Money by now though. I am not sure it is immaturity. He just has a different personality. I agree Gamel can hit. That is the really odd part of Money's comments... How much are you going to listen to a guy you don't like? It has been 4 years. I think a different approach needs to be taken. or he hasn't had or been given much of an opportunity. Maybe he needs more than to be told what to do. Seeing as how Gindl is also having problems I think it may be a personality thing between Gamel and Money. That doesn't really apply. Gamel has done the work and has had good results. He hit very well this year and by even Money's account fielded well at 1B yet all he has to show for it is a long vacation. In the interview Money even said Gamel did well both offensively and defensively. I think there is just a personality clash. He is not a Money guy. I just think Gamel needs to be put in a spot and told he will get the start no matter how well he plays. We did it with YunE all year and Gamel has a much higher upside.
  10. How many defensive guys have come up under Money's watch? I know most are not good to start but the only one who showed any improvement was Weeks and that wasn't until he was in the majors. Are we to say that Braun, Hart and Fielder are not much of learners either? I think at this point Gamel's only problem is being stuck with Money for 4 years. I think it is obvious they don't get along and Gamel may need a different coach.
  11. It is his job to make them better players. I get the feeling that Money is a my way or the highway guy and isn't much of a teacher.
  12. Why would Gamel listen to Money at this point? The only things that seem obvious to me from this article is that Money and Gamel don't get along and some players have obviously started to tune him out.
  13. Where was it ever stated Gamel showed up out of shape? He got hurt in Spring Training in back to back years. That is not necessarily an indication of being out of shape. It has been repeatedly stated that there is nowhere for him to play on the current team other than the bench so it made a lot of sense for him to stay in the minors and work at 1B most of the year. He has just cone up through the system at a bad time for corner spots.
  14. The Phillies were not really at full strength in most games. Of course neither were we.
  15. That could be very misleading in the case of IBB though. Usually when a guy is on 1B they either walked, got a hit or were HBP. That would be an indication of a batter tiring or losing control. That may not be the case when a batter is IBB.
  16. Money's honesty is nice but it seems like a pretty combative way to treat players. It depends on how he is around the players but you get the feeling he tells them what to do instead of working with them. I have not witnessed how he interacts with players so it is hard to say.
  17. I am not really worried about the division. I am more worried about our seeding and how we match up against the other playoff teams. Bring back Weeks, get Betancourt out of the lineup more than once a week and sub in Green as the big half of the platoon at 3B and I feel a lot better about this team. We still may not stack up against the Phillies with those changes but at least I would feel we are putting our best foot forward.(well almost but the Gamel ship has sailed barring injury)
  18. This is about the only game YunE-6 should be starting. He should only face left handed pitching and should have minimal time in the field.
  19. Well at least Green is at 2B. That is some progress. Now DPR just needs to get past Yuni at SS.
  20. Correction, handling players' egos seem to be Ron's strong suit. He seems to know very little about judging and evaluating player talent outside of obvious stars.
  21. Since when? DPR has made lineups with back to back to back lefties several times this year.
  22. Well at least YunE-6 is a good hitter against right handed pitchers.
  23. It is not just picks but it also a full year of Marcum and picks. At worst a sandwich pick and a second round pick. It is not the best option but it could help with the farm systemAt worst a sandwich pick and a third round pick. That is all the Jays got for AJ. We got screwed a bit on CC but the Jays got screwed worse on AJ.
