  1. Some? How many actually think we should have held onto Davis?
  2. Yay grit.
  3. Wow, dude. That's really out there even for you. Of course Santana will be in RF over Perez. There's nothing to supplant, it's Santana's position and Perez is just filling in.
  4. That is the key and it is where we screwed up last time around. We gutted the farm and focused on short term gains.
  5. The Lohse draft. Ugh.
  6. Braun would have to waive his no-trade or the Brewers would have to pull him back.
  7. Considering how well he hit(or didn't) I am not sure Counsell's stance ever "worked for him."
  8. Mets, Cubs, and D-Bags are to high on the list.
  9. People generally don't care about wasting service time on guys who are not expected to do much. An extra year of Rivera doesn't mean much. An extra year of Arcia could be very valuable.
  10. That is the strongest argument not to bring him up this year once we waited until June. I an guessing that they waited this long to see if they could possibly flip Villar as a SS at the deadline. There really is no reason to bring up Arcia now as opposed to the middle of June except to keep Villar at SS.
  11. It was a good 5 years to take a break. It has been tough to watch the Brewers front office since 2011.
  12. No to Bran at 1B. He sucks at fielding ground balls. All the bending and reaching would not be great for his core muscles either which he has had many many issues with.
  13. He shouldn't have been called up in September either. I don't like the callup. He has been hitting poorly in AAA. If the plan was to have him as the starting SS Opening Day next year this really doesn't effect anything. Personally I would have left him down until late May ir June of next year unless he was hitting well.
  14. Yeah Lucroy for one guy and Jeffress for one guy still seems like kind of a weak return considering the Cleveland and SF deals. If the third guy is significant this deal looks a lot better. I don't hate the deal but i am a little disappointed. Overall I am still pretty happy with the direction things are going. Miles better than June 2015.
  15. You sure do enjoy getting a rise out of people. Nah, just have the posts on ignore. When I see him quoted by someone else I usually just roll my eyes and move on.
  16. So a quick perusal of Cot's and the internet and the parameters for PTBNL are 1. Must be available to be traded at time of trade.(Trea Turner Rule) 2. Trade must be completed withing 6 months 3. May not be an active Major League player during the interval between the trade and the date the player is named 4. A player on a minor-league reserve list may not be traded between November 20 and the Rule 5 draft in December, so trades during that window may include a PTBNL.(This seems to contradict rule #1 so I am not really sure about this one, not that it really applies in this situation anyway) Player To Be Named Later A transaction including a player to be named later must be completed within six months. The player may not be an active Major League player during the interval between the trade and the date the player is named. As a result, most players to be named later are minor leaguers. At the time of a trade, clubs sometimes agree on a list of players from which the player to be named will be selected. They also may agree on an amount of money to be exchanged in lieu of a player. Clubs may include a player to be named later in a trade if a player is not eligible to be traded. For example, once a draft pick signs a professional contract, he may not be traded until an entire year has elapsed (the Pete Incaviglia Rule). Additionally, a player on a minor-league reserve list may not be traded between November 20 and the Rule 5 draft in December, so trades during that window may include a PTBNL.
  17. I am a lot happier right now with the Brewers as an organization than I was a year ago. As for two years ago, I think that was the low point.
  18. I know this isn't a debate thread but yikes. The differing of opinions though is what makes it fun! Few years ago it'd be difficult to find 8-10 promising ones. There's always one.
  19. Yup, hate those. The only thing worse is when you click and think you are going to a site for reading something and you get a video. I am usually watching Netflix while browsing so I hate video starting.
  20. I'll be watching, but I think that Mejia is trouble. I think we dodged a bullet there. Possibly. All three in that deal looked like they were likely to rise into some top 100 lists next year. Mejia was already around 80 on one list. Maybe it was the number of players or being kind of bummed out over the veto but I am not as excited about this trade as I should be. Jeffress and Lucroy for two players, albeit highly ranked players, seems like a light return.
  21. I like this trade. I am not sure I like it better than the trade we had in place with Cleveland. It is tough to say what Jeffress' added to the trade or what he would have brought back if added to the Cleveland trade. I would say for sure this one is better but I think I like it.
  22. Kind of. Some behavior is not worth putting up with.
