1) Not a big deal. Throughout the season a pitcher will come up to hit at some point when an actual hitter would help no matter where the pitcher hits in the order. 2) Yeah that's dumb. 3) If the guy is pitching well, leave him in. This wouldn't bother me either way with the right pitcher.
Every team is going to have a bad series now and then. If we want to talk about making a move based on how players have performed over the entire season, fine. Talking about making a move based on any 10 game stretch is pretty absurd.
It really jumps all around. It has been a few years since I read the books but the story gets sort of fractured. Almost like it should have been made into a couple different series. Good, good series though.
Come on. It wasn't a horrible AB. The pitcher made some really good pitches (even if one did technically miss its spot by a healthy margin). Sometimes when a guy strikes out it's not because he sucked.Rock says some really stupid things but I am pulling out one of his right here, "it was to close to take with 2 strikes." At least Kotsay didn't hit into a double play.
I nominate this for post of the year, it's early, but the bar is now set very high. Coincidentally YunE-6 is trying to get through the season with a -1 WAR or better. If he quits now he may accomplish his goal.
