  1. Nah, the Brewers have sold well for a few years now on weekends. Has little to do with being in first place. As long as they had a winning record this year they would draw well.
  2. They only have 4 OF now. Gamel is probably as competent in the outfield as Kotsay. Probably more so. Gamel at least has a strong arm.
  3. Both will be affected. If more balls are in play logically there will be more hits and fewer guys stranded.
  4. Cameron was really good while we had him. If we were going to get that Cameron I would love to have him back. I don't want 2011 Mike Cameron.
  5. Mitre traded back to the Yankees for cash. Wow, guess we really needed the money to pay Kotsuck his roster bonus.
  6. In a normal situation I would agree. In this case I am skeptical about what's in it for Cecil.
  7. Send Gamel back down as soon as interleague is over. He still needs to work at 1B for next year. There is nowhere for him to play regularly. Bring up Green and Boggs and DFA Kotsay.
  8. My bad. We traded a guy better than Kotsay for a guy we are likely to lose through waivers or trade for a bag of balls. Sadly the bag of balls has more value than Kotsay.
  9. Let me see if I have this straight. We kept Kotsay. We traded a guy who is better than Kotsay for Mitre. We then send Mitre down. Now all we need is Gamel sitting the bench instead of Kotsay.
  10. I just hope that Gamel actually gets to play. I wouldn't be shocked to see him sit the bench in favor of Kotsay.
  11. I am not sure if we have but the Cards as whiners has been a pretty yearly topic over the last few years.
  12. Why don't the Yankees need a SS? Jeter isn't very good.
  13. Yup, discussed here.
  14. He hasn't been so far. Small sample definitely applies though. I don't think side armers typically fare well without the platoon advantage.
  15. He may be much better v RHB, but he can go multiple innings. He's stretched out for about 50 pitches. It isn't that he is much better so much as he is really terrible against LHP.
  16. Logan can fight his own battle, but he never said anything about off the field in his original post. Just that he's a giant d-bag. Which he certainly is on the field, which is all I, personally, care about. There is not a chance in Hell I'd hug him. Just curious, outside of the staring down his home runs what are the other things he has done what makes him a giant d-bag? I really wouldn't have a problem with him doing stuff like that except he has complained about other players and teams doing the exact same thing. I am not fan of Braun watching his HR but at least he isn't complaining about players on other teams doing the same thing. The hypocritical part is why I think he is a D-bag. If you don't agree with that after all the other discussions we have had about it over the past couple years, I am not going to waste time trying to convince you because I don't think you will change your mind. Many players do charitable things. It is easy when you have a lot of money. I don't think Pujols or his evil overlord LaRussa handle losing well. They are poor losers. There was an ESPN article about that a few years back.
  17. There were more than a few posters who thought CF would actually be pretty good. The only really deficient position I thought we would have would be SS. Well, and Kotsay/bench. I am not a fan of McGehee but even I didn't think he would be this bad.
  18. if your guys can play good defense. This bench really does nothing well. Can't hit and, other than Gomez/Morgan, they don't really bring good defense either.
  19. That is why it is so important to bury them as far as we can now.
  20. That is a huge part of the problem. Winning somehow gets equated with a manager managing well. That just isn't the case.
  21. It is his attitude towards other people doing the same things he does that makes him a hypocritical D-bag. I am not going to waste my time looking for one. We all know he has chastized other people for doing things that are unclassy. That's on the field crap. Don't waste your time because he is a solid guy who happens to be playing for a team that is not located closely to where we (most of us) grew up or live.So we are going to excuse his on-field behavior then? I didn't know that. In that case he is a great guy.
  22. He is a D-bag and a huge reason I don't like that team though. Him and LaRussa. Link to him doing something D-baggish off the playing field? It is his attitude towards other people doing the same things he does that makes him a hypocritical D-bag. I am not going to waste my time looking for one. We all know he has chastized other people for doing things that are unclassy.
