  1. Shelby Miller previous to this year looks pretty good. Two years with an ERA just over 3.00. Even with this poor year he still has an ERA almost half a run lower than Nelson. Miller was third in the ROY voting in 2013. In this era of deep bullpens short starts are the norm so quality starts is not really a useful way to judge a pitcher. Nelson has 10 good starts this year on par with what Miller did prior to going to Atlanta. Digging deeper into the peripherals I would expect similar performance out of both since their career K/9 and BB/9 are pretty similar. Taking age into consideration I think it is likely Miller is playing through some kind of injury rather than he suddenly forgot how to pitch. I would expect Miller to end up with a worse ERA than Nelson this year but only because of how they both started.
  2. I wish/hope for that to be true, because I like Perez, but I am not sure what he has done to show he is pretty good. Although, I find it interesting you find Perez to be pretty good but dog Santana every chance you get. Care to elaborate on that? Briggs likes guys or doesn't like guys for no apparent reason. Most of the time it seems like he just likes to be contrary to everyone else. Then he goes out and fits his support for them after the fact.
  3. Why count the internet connection in? Wouldn't you have that anyway?
  4. It sounds like there is already antivirus running by default in the background. Having two antivirus actively scanning at the same time can cause a lot of issues. They will but heads and may tell you the other one is a virus in addition to using more system resources. That is why you will see so many recommendations for Malwarebytes. I would recommend Malwayrebytes in addition to active antivirus. It is on demand and will catch some things normal antivirus will not. Even the best antivirus isn't going to really protect you 100%. They are still pretty reactionary and any new exploit is going to be tested against antivirus software. The best way to protect yourself is to be careful what you download and where you go on the web.
  5. Windows 10 is a huge pain in the ass. You have to go through a lot of toggles to get it not to spy on you and those things could just turn right back on whenever you have an update which may not be under your control. You just have to start digging through all the toggles and set them not to spy. Good luck.
  6. What does this mean? I assume you're saying that they're better off without Gomez, but how? What does not having Gomez on the team do that was hindered by having him there? I'm serious about these questions. He played 5+ seasons in Milwaukee and was worth 16 WARP, but people seem to think the Brewers are so much better off without him. It's easy to look at it now and say it was good to get rid of him, but what if he was playing like 2014 Gomez? Would people still feel this way? The Brewers are better off without Gomez. We got a good haul in the trade. Even if Gomez was the 6 WAR Gomez of a few years back we would still be better off. We would probably be better off without Lucroy as well. We were not going to compete this year or next while Gomez and Lucroy would have been with us.
  7. Life as a home brewer and beer geek means adding a lot of words to the Firefox dictionary.
  8. Yes. The modem is what plugs into the wall and the router transmits the signal to other computers and your wireless devices. Many times they are the same thing. How fast is your internet connection? I wouldn't buy a cheap router unless your internet connection is really bad. That way your bottleneck won't be your router and you won't be looking for an upgrade soon. This is the least expensive one I have been considering.
  9. Would this be a second router?
  10. I haven't had many problems with people at the theater. It helps to go early in the morning. Plus, it is $5 at the Sun Prairie theater for any movie that start before noon.
  11. What about righty on righty? Phrasing.
  12. I miss more cowbell.
  13. I wouldn't think of Greinke as a flip guy. We gave up way to much to consider him a flip guy. Besides, when they flipped Greinke their back was against the wall. Like many of the trades Melvin made.
  14. It is nice to be a fan of an organization that has a lot of talent spread throughout the whole system. This year is a nice change from the last 4 when we had a depleted minor league system and a middling at best MLB team.
  15. Yeah it would be more productive but wins are not the goal right now. The goal is to increase the value of players and the best way to do that seems to get the playing full time.
  16. Predicted it no, but it was a strong possibility. Much of his game was built on speed. He isn't going to be as bad as he is right now but he isn't going to be as good as he was in 2013-2014. 2012 numbers is what I would expect from here out. His philosophy at the plate seems to be swing hard in case you hit it. He still has a lot of value as a league average hitter and better than average defense in CF. I would expect his defense to decline to average sometime this year or next.
  17. I am not sure Scooter is really part of the future. He's eligible for arbitration after this year.
  18. Nottingham has looked very good so far.
  19. I was never a fan of Gomez and thought his good years at the plate were outliers.
  20. 4 posts and nothing but plugging a website. Looks like spam to me. Sheesh, it is relevant to the topic, no? Maybe, maybe not. When your soul purpose is to plug your own board I find it very distasteful.

  22. We traded for him for extra years of service time from our young pitchers.
  23. Did you also stop at The Safe House?
  24. Why does every Brewer fan on here get offended when someone disagrees with this management? I didn't like the hire of a pitching coach with no major league experience. Yes it's only 18 games but pointing out that it's one of the worst 18 game pitching stretches ever for this franchise (and I've seen every one since 1970), is trolling or that bringing up the advantages of experience in an important job is out of line?? Really, the site is BrewerFAN.net, not blindsupportofbrewers.net. You really haven't liked much about anything the Brewers have done this year. I think this is more a reaction to your constant negativity and having unrealistic expectations for this year.
