  1. I am guessing that most people think that both are sub-par defenders and in Gamel's case might have to change positions. I personally leave them down and pick up Cameron's option because I would rather see one of those guys come up rather than a Barnwell caliber player and I don't think it would hurt either to improve their defense. Operating under the assumption we traded Hart I definitely pick up Cameron's option because I don't want a rookie and Gwynn in the outfield. I don't want Gwynn as a starter in any case. I was just checking because it looked like I was quoted out of context.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. In the next sentence I go on to basically say we have no room for them in the majors right now. I don't think they need all of next year to develope in the minors offensivley, but there isn't any room for them right now and it wouldn't be the end of the world if we left young MLB ready talent in the minors an extra year. All of our young position players except for Prince and Hart would have benifited from another year in the minors. Paying Cameron for next year and gaining a year of LaPorta in 2015 wouldn't be bad. Leaving them in the minors to get better defensivly wouldn't be bad either.
  3. In my opinion, Gagne has been pretty sketchy so far. He hasn't really shown good control in any outing so far.
  4. Giving up that many base runners is never good. He has been pretty lucky not to give up more.
  5. I thought Simmons was supposed to be around to do some interviews and take some of the pressure off of Yost. I have seen very little from Simmons as far as interviews go.
  6. Yeah 2 more wins at home and we woudl be right where we want to be overall on the season. That would put us at .500 on the road and winning 2 of 3 at home. Doing that puts us at around 94 wins which would be better than I expected. Nothing a 4-5 game win streak couldn't fix at this point. Not that we need to do that.
  7. That's understandable. I don't think I could do it either, but if somebody is going to I would be willing to buy 5 as well. I think a 2 1/2" pach sounds like a good size since if I bought one I would probably sew it on a shirt sleve.
  8. I really liked his "I am no longer a player so I can criticize the umpires if they suck" attitude.
  9. It is also Prior and Wood money. I also said it was only if he had a season ending injury in the next couple weeks.
  10. Um, the Brewers. It seems like we always get burned by the opposing pitcher while they are hitting.
  11. At some point this offense needs to bail out our starting pitching. 2 runs. What the heck kind of crap is that?
  12. I think Gallardo being out won't effect us until Tuesday, his next scheduled start. Parra has been pretty marginal all year. This time is the first he got lit up.
  13. You mean lefty does 40 OPS better against righties than lefties, right?
  14. I would sign almost anybody with Sheets potential to a one year deal at $3-$4M as long as they were going to be healthy by the start of the season.
  15. and probably gaining $12M+ with arbitration for Fielder, Weeks, ect. I would gladly sign Sheets to a 3 years deal at whatever it takes, but I doubt he would accept anything under 5 years. The only way we retain Sheets is if has a season ending injury in the next few weeks. Then we woudl be able to sign him to a one year contract for only a few million at most.
  16. To bad Rickie doesn't have any power.
  17. I doubt he is a September call up unless they think he should be on the 40 man roster. I see no reason any of those players is anything more than a half month injury call up next year. Things obviously chnge if there is a trade, but as things stand now the best option looks to be picking up Cameron's option and letting them sit in the minors next year.
  18. I think it was Charter. I could be mistaken. I know there were several people who didn't get the game last weekend. I was one of the lucky ones who has cable and still got the game with white noise in the background for the first 2 innings and commercials in the middle of half innings.
  19. Unless I am mistaken he still would have made it this year. To be honest I think he would have benefited defensively from a full year in AAA.
  20. I dont think Gamel or LaPorta are ready for the majors yet. They are both in AA and LaPorta has yet to play a full year of prefessional baseball. I would prefer to leave both in the minors at least through the end of next year. As far as the guys we currently have here is the order I would keep them in young starting pitching(Gallardo, Parra, Vill, ect.) Braun Hart Weeks Fielder Hall/Hardy I honestly think that trading any of our current starting position players for another starting pitcher would have an overall negative impact. Trading prospects is the only way I see where we can get another starter without hurting the team this year.
  21. Wonderful. Now we get the screw-job again. At least I don't have Charter as I think those guys get to watch whatever crap is on FSN instead of a Brewers game with poor audio and commercials in the middle of at bats.
  22. How are the patches coming along?
  23. Sorry, I am not sure. I don't think so, but it was only a rental and I didn't get that deep into it.
  24. I like our new logo and colors, but I think the merchandise sucks. I have mostly old logo stuff, not on purpose, because it is usually better quality. I don't like screen printed T-shirts because they fade quickly. All my old logo stuff has stitched on letters and logos. I can't find new logo stuff with stitched on letters.
  25. I know this is off topic, but I have to agree. I would love to see Marmol closing. It would cut way down on his innings.
