    The only game he pitched at Wrigley was a 4-0 loss that he pitched a scoreless inning. If you're talking about the Braves game, the Braves had an 88.1% chance to win when Wang came in and with the bottom of the order facing Kimbrel it probably didn't matter if it was a 1 run game or a 10 run game. Sure you could say maybe they come back if it's a 1 run game but in order to cost the team a game, they have to be winning or at least have the game tied when they come in. Wang wasn't the only option that time either.

    Depth and age were the two big concerns going into the year. Especially on the offensive side. Everything had to go right for us to make the playoffs. The hot start gave us a little leeway but we are still an old thin team.

    I tell my (college student) employees that dropping out of a job like that is the Employment Kiss of Death. It's one of the very worst impressions you can leave on an employer. As an employer of college students, I have examples! My 'favorite' is the law school student who did that and then applied for federal jobs, for which he had to list me as a reference. Guess how that turned out for him. Actually, I don't know if he got a federal job, but I didn't give him a favorable reference. I've yet to have anyone quit via text, but that may be because I don't give the students my cell phone number. Sending a text takes more effort than just not showing up. I personally like the no call/no show that shows up a few days later and expects to still have their job.

    Wait... you mean that players will have ups and downs throughout the season and we shouldn't go butt nutty when a player is playing above or below his true talent level for a short period of time? I'm not sure exactly what we have in Davis, but he's probably a high-.700's-to-low-.800's OPS guy. Not a star, but a decent MLB LF, especially when he's cheap. I thought he might need some PAs in AAA to straighten things out, but he is clearly better than he was playing. Good to see he's back on track. As to Weeks, I have no idea where his "true talent level" is at this point in his career. I don't like that he wouldn't do what the team asked of him, as that's just part of being a "team player." That said, I've never liked having two 2B-only guys on the team, so it may make sense to let him play everyday (assuming he won't be able to hit the automatic vesting option) and send Gennett down to AAA just to get a more versatile/helpful player on the roster for a while. It's business, and that could let the Brewers get the most out of Weeks (now) and Gennett (in the future). I don't think the team should have asked him to move in the first place. I am not a huge fan of Davis but jumping ship on him a little over a month into the season for a guy who we really have no idea if he is just having a hot month or actually figured something out seemed a little knee jerk to me. Let Weeks stay playing as the right handed half of the platoon and be subbed for on defense late in games.

    So at this point it looks like it was best for the Brewers to not play Weeks in LF and take PA away from Davis. Hopefully that continues to be true.

    No, he can't. He has to stay on someone's MLB roster unless he passes through waivers.

    Why would the Mariners want Morales. They already have 2 first baseman in addition to Hart.

    JJ and Yuni are about as far from each other on the spectrum as 2 players could possibly be. Yeah it looks like Hardy hits like Yuni lately. At least how Yuni hit in his "good" years.

    Can't move a guy to the 60 day DL if he was put on the DL while in the minors. I can't cite that but I know it was brought up elsewhere either on this board or over at BCB.

    Sometimes I feel like you don't realize just how much better guys are at the MLB level compared to even AA players.

    It would be just our luck to have MLB crack down on these oral agreements this year.

    That season looked like an outlier at the time and he has done little to prove otherwise. When the option is Overbay I don't think there is a good reason not to try Morris.

    I feel the same but I didn't think Overbay should have been kept in the first place so the sooner they move him the better.

    On most teams Wang probably would have been sent down already. However almost every single team has that back end of the bullpen guy who isn't good at all. They may rotatate a few guys between the majors and minors all season so I don't see how it hurts us to just keep Wang. The manager's options in the first Atlanta game were Wang, Smith, and Thornburg. He didn't choose wisely.

    I don't agree with that as much as I used to. I don't think the money part is hurting us as much as the lack of talent. I would rather overpay in dollars a bit than in talent. I am not saying go out and win the market on the biggest names like Fielder or Greinke. I think you can get good midrange talent at a decent price. You absolutley have to acquire your top guys through means other than free agency. I wouldn't mind paying Hart this year but I absolutely do not want to give up any useful talent to get him.

    I'M not familiar with the term "Super two" What does it mean?Players have to accumulate 3 years of service time before they are eligible for arbitration. Then they have 3 years of arbitration. A certain percentage of players with 2 years of service but less than 3 receive an extra year of arbitration. They still need 6 full years of service time to reach free agency
