  1. That isn't a very realistic wall cling. 5'10'' high? That's not life sized, that's bigger than life sized. Well the bat is probably half of that 5'10".
  2. Maybe Disney can make episodes 1-3 noncannon.
  3. I don't understand the Gamel comparison other than both being left handed 1B. Gamel hit well at every level. Morris has had one good season. I hope Morris hits as well in 2013 as he did in 2012.
  4. Until Bruan is one of the main players on a team that wins 11 straight division championships he isn't in the same category as Chipper. Not saying I think it is right, just how I think the voters will see it.
  5. He needs to keep up this production into his late 30's though. Not just till his mid 30's. 8 years at 40HR to get to 500. 9@35. 10@30. They have not had a big effect yet but that could easily change as he gets older. The body doesn't heal as quick. It also may have already effected him. His stats may have been much better if he was healthier.
  6. So only the films are true cannon. Canon is what GL says it is. Wonderful.
  7. I don't think he will break down. He might not even miss any games. I am concerned with the nagging itercostal injuries he has almost every year affecting his production. Like I said though, there may be a different mindset on HOF numbers by the time Braun retires.
  8. His 30's are not that far away. I don't think players perform as well into their late 30's like they used to so. Braun also got sort of a relatively late start to his career. Because of that, I don't think Braun will be a Hall of Famer at the end of his career. I just don't know if his counting stats will be there. Of course the thinking behind voting for the Hall of Fame may change by then.
  9. There is quite a lot of post 6 cannon out there.(I believe it is cannon) I hope they skip way past that into the future and go to something completely new. I think Luke and Leia's kids are pretty well defined and have had a lot of stories already.
  10. Are some of the people dinging Trout for not playing the whole season some of the same people who thought CC should win the MVP? Don't know, just asking. Bottom line to me is that he provided more value in a shorter time. He was the best player in the league this year. I still think Cabrera will win but shouldn't.
  11. The problem is we don't know if Gomez can keep up his power numbers. His plate discipline hasn't really changed much. I don't feel very confident he can maintain his production at the plate. I would keep him around through net year but don't see him as a guy you offer a longer deal to. I think one team will like his possible upside and sign him for more than we should pay him.
  12. It would probably have to go to a 3 game series to draw more fans. 7 games is just to much to watch for a couple of teams many people don't care about.
  13. If by passable you mean not really good and is only at 1B to keep his bat in the lineup, I agree.
  14. Is that an Onion article?
  15. Do picks still get forfeited? I have read several conflicting opinions.
  16. Just to be clear I am in no way advocating Loria in any shape of fashion. He is a skinflint. Probably one of if not the worst owners in baseball.
  17. How would Tampa Bay's attendance be explained? I don't think that Florida is much of a baseball state.
  18. That is pretty close. I am saying that pre-arby players are doing a job that pays far more than they are making. By the time they get to arby they start to make money more in line with the job they are doing. Sure they get big raises but they are dramatically underpaid until they get to arby. FA guys are generally overpaid but you are worth whatever somebody will pay. The service time system artificially suppresses wages. I don't see anybody complaining about players being underpaid.
  19. Why would we want to help the cubs down the road?
  20. That is fine but you really have to think of how they are paid for the first 6 years as a probationary period where they are not paid what they are worth.
  21. You really have to think of it as all the prearby guys being severely underpaid. When they hit arby they start to get closer to getting paid what they are worth. If you think they don't deserve a raise I think you really need to look at what the average player is actually paid.
  22. I could get behind the Giants if it wasn't for their hypocritical fans. Booing Braun after they cheered for Bonds for years.
