I'm in town for work so I'll be at Saturday-Tuesday's games, so I'm hoping to see both halves of the platoon. -
I personally can't wait to get up to Miller Park this weekend to root loudly for Scooter like Robert Muldoon at the start of Jurassic Park. Scooooooootaaaahhhhh, Scooooooootaaaaaahhhh!

Wallace is still only 27 and got rushed to the big leagues, I'd love to take a look at him and hope he's another Gomez type late bloomer. With the trash heap that we have at 1B and no real studs in the pipeline there, what's the harm?

Seriously. I wouldn't trade Davis OR Estrada for Smoak and Ackley, let alone both. They're just guys at this point in their 'careers'.

@Bill_Michaels: According to a source, the hang up between the Brewers and Matt Garza IS his elbow. How is that even possible if he "passed" his physical?? So frustrating. I wonder if the 4th year is actually a vesting option and that's what the hang up is.

Whatever it is, I'm shocked it's taking this long to resolve one way or another. If they don't announce at On Deck tomorrow I will officially be worried.

If there was something wrong with his medicals, I can't believe that word would have gotten out on the contract even, although I could be wrong on that. I like the deal a lot so I hope it goes through and he's healthy. I want no part of Jiminez, we should not be giving up another first round pick.

Better this approach than giving up something of value for Ike Davis, who may not be as productive as an Overbay/Reynolds platoon anyways.

I really hope that whoever loses out on the 5th rotation spot doesn't go to the pen, send them down to AAA to keep them stretched out in case Peralta/Fiers struggles. I'm really disappointed that they look like they're going to keep Peralta up, even though I love his upside.

Great deal given his defense and that he's still only 27. Love our outfield and that they're all locked up for a while.

the book was fantastic, but I have low expectations for the movie. seems like it will be standard hollywood summer blockbuster fare. get out of here with the fast zombies.

I was at the game too, just awful. I think the music and video during this tragedy was done on purpose as a way to distract people from what was going on in the bullpen. A friend of mine knows someone who works as an event planner and they were doing an event with people parachuting in to the a staging area and there was a plan in place in case something went wrong and one of them crashed and it was something along the lines of what happened at MP yesterday - keep everyone entertained and do whatever you can to divert the attention from what's going on. So to that extent they were just doing there job (and did it well), even though I couldn't help but think about the dichotomy in what was going on on the screen and in the bullpen. My thoughs go out to gentlemens family.

pretty entertaining fatal 4 way match, although I was hoping Jericho would get a title run before he leaves. I'm already sick of Seamus.

Ziggler jobs again, unbelievable. Really thought they might win the titles tonight. Was looking forward to a Christian/Rhodes match, really disappointed that he picked Santino.

I would choose Greinke over Ax and it's not even close. Good closers are a heck of a lot easier to find than top of the rotation studs. I love Ax, but I really hope this is more about cost certainty and looks like a 3+1+1 deal at most because I just don't see a lot of upside to betting on him continuing his dominant trend (as much as I'd like him to). -
Attanasio to extend Melvin and Roenicke?

I was kind of surprised to see the talk of extending Roenicke already myself. The players seem to like him, which counts for something I guess, but I agree that seeing how we start the season off would probably be prudent. If we're doing well, extend him at the all star break or something. -
So if Rickie doesn't want to hit 5th and Corey likes leading off, doesn't that have to mean that Rickie bats 4th and Ramirez 5th?

if Ryan Braun were any classier, he'd have to play for the Cardinals. Brewers are going to sell a lot of Braun merch this season I think.
