  1. Sadly, I feel like most people here these days won't get the reference, but I sure appreciate it! 😄
  2. Kids in the post game press conference again. What is the point?
  3. Black is going to provide some offense, now we just have to figure out how he is going to get his at bats.
  4. I mentioned it last night in the IGT and was pretty surprised. Those kids need to get away from the press conferences. I think they make Murphy hold back a little on his comments. I mean, are we going to have those kids on camera every single night? Just ridiculous.
  5. Yup, Uribe said nothing according to replays. Dumbass shouldn't have started swinging though.
  6. Darn shame this IGT thread is dead tonight, this would have been a fun one for conversation...
  7. The Orioles have handled their call up of top prospect Heston Kjerstad very strangely. He was called up April 23rd, started that night, then rode the bench until the 26th, where he got one pinch hit appearance. He has rode the pine since, and is not starting tonight either. No injuries, just brought him up to watch I guess. This is just odd as hell.
  8. I'm going to slam the Wiemer start in hopes that makes him go 3 for 4 with a HR! Can't hurt. I HATE seeing Wiemer starting under any circumstance right now. The kid is outmatched, overwhelmed, and probably really down on himself right now.
  9. I enjoy all the forums and wouldn't like to see any major format changes.. I enjoy the old-school elements quite a bit. I do however miss the "trading post."
  10. Imo, and I could be way off base here, the reason the IGT threads are not very active is because a couple of posters who made things "interesting" have pretty much left. The posters I speak of usually had very different takes on things, which caused a lot of petty arguing, etc. One in particular usually stirred things up to the point of making each IGT probably 3 or 4 pages longer than it would be without him, hence, the shorter IGT threads. Again, this is just an observation and opinion. I also believe that another reason the IGT has less traffic is because the posters who have felt the need to police it have turned off some of the regulars from the past. I know this for a fact, but it is what it is.
  11. These press conferences with Murphy and his grandkids are kind of weird. And is that kid wearing a St. Louis hat? C'mon man?
  12. The real question is this: Is Turang a better tagger than Javier Baez? 😀
  13. All this talk of the Rays getting swept by the White Sox just makes it that much more scary to play them. They are going to be looking to take that out on someone! lol After that Yankee series, I don't think we should be counting on sweeping them, it's just one game at a time...
  14. Christian Yelich (back) threw from up to 120 feet away before Monday’s game. Yelich has also resumed throwing, and the ability to throw from a relative distance is another positive encouragement. This was initially viewed as a potential short-term stint on the injured list, but right now it seems likely that Yelich won’t be back until the early-to-mid portion of May. Source: Curt Hogg
  15. I'm not a GM, or don't have a connection to the Astros GM, but there is not a chance in hell the Astros are going to go into sell mode. They will right the ship and be a factor before all is said and done.
  16. Desperation is about to set in... Time to do some wheeling and dealing I'm afraid.
  17. Problem is, at this point in time, he has no trade value. He needs an extended period at AAA to get his stock back up
  18. Why is this even an argument? Some people just have to be right I guess. Simple fact #1: Some fans feel priced out and go to fewer games because of the cost. Some have even stopped going all together because of the costs involved. Simple fact #2: Some fans don't mind the higher prices and will continue going to games. Some even feel the higher costs are justified.
  19. I don't disagree with this, but we can't afford to have Chourio AND Wiemer in the same boat. I agree, keep Chourio on his learning curve, butt Wiemer just has to go. We just can't have them both in the line-up on a daily or even semi daily basis.
  20. Then let's get shuffling. We can't afford to punt any more games because we aren't willing to mess with the 40 man. In this division, every game is going to count come September. Wiemer just has to go back down, just has to. Not sure what to do with Chourio at this point. I do not believe he should be here either, I mean all of this horribleness isn't good for him. We desperately need Yelich back. Weren't they experimenting with Tyler Black in the OF?
  21. Until he isn't, Bauer is a possible replacement, just like Grienke, etc..
  22. Yes, they used to be Sunday games, and NO, they were not more expensive. That has never been the case until this season.
  23. They shouldn't have anything to do with the cost increase in specific games, but it appears they do make the prices go up in the new era of fluctuating ticket prices. Bobbles used to be promotions to get butts in seats. Now it appears they jack the prices up when they give away bobbles as promotions.
