  1. The Rays have pulled the plug on Jadher Areinamo’s winter league season in Venezuela, telling him to instead get ready for spring training. Areinamo was playing about as well as anyone in the Venezuelan Winter League until Nov. 30, when he had to leave La Guaira to apply for an extended visa. That came through and he was set to rejoin the team today, but the Rays decided to deny permission for that to happen. The 22-year-old Areinamo was hitting .364/.420/.693 with 13 homers in 36 games for the Tiburones. He leads the circuit in OPS and was tops in homers when he departed, with only Balbino Fuenmayor having overtaken him since. Source: Daniel Alvarez
  2. Probably too many...
  3. I'm not disagreeing for the most part with your post, but 5 deep in the OF? In my opinion, they are 2 deep, with a bunch of filler for 3-8, and are in desperate need of another bat in their starting OF. Yelich - can't even count him really, since he is our daily DH. Perkins - can't be projected as a starter due to his bat, he's a good #4 or 5 guy, but any extended playing time just means something went wrong. Baddoo - yuk, I hope whatever the Brewers think they see in this guy pays off. Lockridge - Not a fan, he's fast, blah blah blah. No way we can count on him for an extended period of time. Bauers - below average defense, and probably more in the "sucks at defense in the OF" category. Mitchell - injury concern..............................not really a concern, just a matter of when the injury happens.(sorry BrewerFan) To compete in the playoffs in 2026, we are going to have to add a bat in the OF, it's really as simple as that. We can go into 2026 thinking we can repeat 2025, but even if we do, we see how far that gets us in the playoffs. This line-up NEEDS another dependable bat that can hit for some power. We can't think we are going to take another step forward in 2026 with Perkins/Baddoo/etc and Joey hitting 8 and 9 in the line-up. We can hope to see 2024 Joey, and we can hope that Mitchell stays healthy and doesn't strike out 38% of the time, but that is just a hope and a prayer. All opinions of course.
  4. Well, I think you are right, but it depends on how badly they think they need a frontline starter and a bonafied closer (but didn't they just sign Chapman to be their closer) to add to their squad. My guess is, if they agreed to something like this, it would also include a top 30 prospect from us to round it out...
  5. Why do people keep saying Collis was a UT guy? He only played OF for us, and I highly doubt the Brewers thought he was anything other than that.
  6. Duran played primarily in LF in 2025, so I doubt he can be penciled in as our CF. Wondering if Chourio will just take over there fulltime? Duran's numbers weren't that great this past season. In fact, his stat line was down in almost every category. Worse in hits, homers, doubles, runs, stolen bases, OBP, OPS, and slugging. Batting average took a major hit down to .256 from .285 the year before. Also, he struck out more with fewer at bats than 2024. 2025 he struck out 27%, 2024 he struck out 23%. Be nice to get a guy in the OF that has 30 HR potential, and I don't think Duran is that guy hitting only 16 in 2025. Of course, he'd be better than Perkins, Baddoo, and Lockridge, so it wouldn't be all bad. His contract is decent too so I can see this happening, I just don't want to throw anymore prospects into the mix from our side, as I think Duran for Freddy is good enough.
  7. Oh man, I really can't stand watching Chisholm play. Just can't stand players like him, and would find it difficult to root for him. I probably said the same thing about T-Plush when we got him, so I guess I could get over it. 😁
  8. I truly believe that people just don't realize that the days when we had a full system of OFers has passed us by. I remember when we had Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell, and Chourio in the pipeline, and everyone thought we were set for a decade! So far, only Chourio and Frelick have panned out. So I think the old notion of having a stacked OF position at the minor league level comes from that...
  9. It appears that everyone on this site is pretty sure that Mitchell is going to get hurt this season at some point. It will either happen in spring training, regular season, or anytime between now and the day players report. So many people here saying the same thing, over and over, it almost leads one to believe that it is a real thing... I guess I'm not the only one here that mentions that as a possibility after all @BrewerFan. (I'm just razzing you, everything is ok...)
  10. Saw that, seems like a lot! Maybe he's going to be their regular catcher?
  11. Nope, I said "I do not believe" which to me means "in my opinion" I truly believe, in my opinion, Yelich will not be playing 10% of the games in the field this year, barring injury, or emergency.
  12. I do not believe that Yelich is in any plans for LF, even sparingly. To be honest, I hope that is the case. Let him hit, keep him healthy, and hope for the best. Adam is correct, had the trade been reversed, this board would have loved it. Having been here for a while, I also know that any trade we make, the board goes out of it's way to justify it, which is what we are seeing now. I'm not saying that''s a bad thing, but Adam has a point, even though there will be a lot of people refusing to admit it...
  13. That package would probably make Stearns giggle. C'mon man... Freddy (1 year), Megill when they just signed Williams, Joey (where would he play) and Collins (traded, but you can use Perkins here instead I guess) wouldn't even come close to getting Lindor, plus then you want the Mets to pay a huge chunk of his salary to boot? I suppose the Mets could plan to resign Freddy for a multi-year contract after the season, but still, just not going to get it done without a couple of our blue-chip prospects added in.
  14. The fact that we still have Lockridge and Perkins does nothing for my confidence level. Don't be so sure that Baddoo doesn't get an extended look at regular playing time unless we have another OF in mind that isn't yet on our roster. Nothing would surprise me when it comes to Murphy's line-ups. No, I'm not forgetting Mitchell...
  15. Here's a tissue... Yeah, I don't get this, unless there is another outfielder coming our way in a different trade. No way we are pinning our hopes to Baddoo, just no way.
  16. I am praying that this means we are in on an outfielder in a different trade. If this means Baddoo just carved out regular playing time in 2026, then this really blows.
  17. The Padres and Mets have been discussing a potential trade centered around a combination of Mason Miller, Nick Pivetta, Adrian Morejon, Ramón Laureano and Jeremiah Estrada, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, Dennis Lin and Will Sammon. Rosenthal, Lin and Sammon add the Padres have expressed interest in the Mets’ trio of elite pitching prospects — Nolan McLean, Jonah Tong and Brandon Sproat — while noting that franchise cornerstones Francisco Lindor and Fernando Tatis Jr. have not surfaced in trade discussions. Any deal involving those prospects would qualify as a blockbuster, though McLean’s inclusion would be especially surprising given that he’s been viewed as virtually untouchable since making his major-league debut late last season. New York remains in the market for an established front-line starter and an additional high-leverage reliever to pair with newly acquired stopper Devin Williams following Edwin Díaz’s departure to Los Angeles. While The Athletic notes that nothing appears imminent, this is a situation worth monitoring. Source: The Athletic
  18. Landman is glorious! Just a great show that is hard to stop watching once you start! Also, Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King are also excellent!
  19. Because Durbin hit, Joey didn't. It's that simple. Joey played great defense, but didn't hit....at all. Durbin played good defense, and hit way better than Joey.
  20. Nope, not within the division. Plus, it would suck to face Freddy 3 or 4 times in 2026. He'd probably no-hit us because.....baseball.
  21. If there is a trade in the works that bumps Baddoo up in the pecking order, I will be sad. If we make a trade that sends one of our OFers packing, I surely hope Baddoo is not our answer for replacement.
