    I refuse to think about a game #5. All hands on deck to win game 4, then it's over. The only bad scenario I can see is if Gasser starts and gives up 4 or 5 runs in 2-3 innings. Hopefully, Murphy would have the sense not to allow that to happen. Hoping Gasser can go 3-4 innings, 2 or fewer runs, then after that, it's all hands on deck, especially with a lead. If we are leading say 3-1 after 4 or 5 innings, I'm using the best of what we have. I'm even considering throwing Miz an inning or two, Henderson same. Whatever it takes to get it done. I do NOT want to see a game 5 happen, and if we have the means to stop it, even unconventionally, DO IT! That all changes if we are down 3-4 runs in the 4th or 5th, at that point, you have to consider game 5, and keep Miz as that starter.

    Robert Gasser will start Game 4 of the NLDS against the Braves. Gasser has not yet pitched this postseason. The left-hander had a 3.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 103/35 K/BB ratio in 190 1/3 innings for the Brewers this season. His last two outings were six and seven innings, respectively, so there is not likely to be a pitch count on him, but the Brewers will also happily go to their bullpen early if they feel it’s the right move. - Eric Samulski 1h ago Source: Curt Hogg

    I'm also worried about Vaughn and his effectiveness after virtually never seeing at bats this series. It's hard to pinch hit effectively in MLB, and if we do pinch hit him in a dicey situation, and he fails, it won't be shocking. The guy needs more at bats to be effective, period. At the end of the season, even when he started, he was pulled around the 5th inning, once again, not getting regular at bats. He's been used horribly all season, so seeing what has transpired in the playoffs isn't shocking at all. Can he produce in a game breaking situation after getting so few at bats? I just don't know.

    I am not on board with starting May tonight, not at all. I don’t want to start him just because we traded for him. Gasser has more than outpitched him down the stretch, and at this point, we need to play our best players. So, I hope he goes out there and goes 7 innings of no run baseball, but I just don’t see it happening. Pancakes better have a very short leash, and Gasser on standby.

    Which only makes the situation murky... Just when you think he is useless, he goes out tonight and looks decent. Still not worthy of the #3 start, but now a possibility out of the bullpen, on a short, SHORT leash.

    but is still sporting a 9.00 ERA so far tonight. I don't know why anyone is defending this guy. He is NOT a guy we want starting a playoff game, unless of course, for some odd reason you feel it's ok to punt a playoff game. Some people just like to go against the grain for reaction I suppose. Wouldn't be the first time.
