  1. Getting even worse for me tonight, 45 seconds minimal for anything.
  2. I have been seeing this the past couple of weeks, so much so that I haven't been checking in as often because it is unbelievably slow. I'm also in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin, and use my PC 99% of the time I check in to this site. I actually logged on just now to post here and saw this thread. Today is even worse than normal. Also, I recommended this site to a buddy of mine last week, he said it was too slow and gave up. He is also in the Fox Valley area.
  3. If he is here on opening day, the only way he is traded at the deadline is if we are way out of the playoff chase. That seems highly unlikely, so I'm thinking if he is here on opening day, he is with us until the end of the season. All this talk of trading him at the deadline seems weird.
  4. Seems the guy just has an opinion, no fault in that is there? This board is filled with opinions...
  5. I don't want Chapman on any deal more than 2 years, not with Wilken in the wings. No way we get Hoskins for 2 years at 28 million. I am thinking if he wants to go 2 years, it will be 36 million. I'm not even against paying him that to be honest. We have to spend money someplace, and 1B seems like an obvious need. 2 years isn't much of a commitment either.
  6. Right, and like I have said previously, we may get bitten in the butt if we wait too long and he is gone. The only real reason I want in on Santana again is because he is a far better option than Bauers, and it isn't even close. I know we can fool ourselves into thinking we have a reasonable shot at Hoskins, but I 100% think someone else will pay him, and we'll be left with nothing if we wait too long.
  7. 100% agree. I hope he lands somewhere and has a good year.
  8. Yup, and in the end, when we inevitably miss out on Hoskins because a larger market team pays him, we'll lose out on Santana because he will be scooped up by someone else. If Bauers is our 1B come opening day, I'm going to be severely disappointed. SEVERELY!
  9. I'd take a year of Santana over two years of Ramirez, especially it it costs us a top 50 guy. Pass.
  10. My concern is we mess around and wait too long on Santana, and someone else gets him. If we go into the season with Bauers as our daily 1B, I hope like hell we have traded Burnes, Adames and Williams for future pieces...
  11. I think MA wants to stick it to CC in a very big way! I mean, he's a competitive guy, I just can't imagine that the thought hasn't crossed his mind. Will sticking it to CC be a driving factor in moves for the 2024 team? Probably yes and no. I don't believe that MA will risk the future of this team to beat the Cubs/CC this year, but there has to be a little bit of it in every big move. Maybe he will loosen the purse strings a little bit to drive his need to not allow CC to win the Central, but I don't see him breaking the bank, or doing anything that will upset the team in 2025 and beyond.
  12. and we don't have any of them now either... If we don't have the production replaced that they offered us after acquiring them, there is a pretty good argument that we have gotten worse... I'm choosing to believe that we do not go into the season with Jake Bauers as our starting 1B, there is just no way that happens...........................................right?
  13. Meh, then you simply have Alvarado pitch the 8th, with Williams as your proven closer. Imagine that starting rotation, with Alvarado and Williams to lock down the 8th and 9th?
  14. $$ talks, always has, always will...
  15. I just can't see them throwing 16 million at one guy, even if for only one season. I have been trained to think that is too much money, it's part of being a Brewers fan. I mean, if we really want to pay a bat, and according to most, Hoskins can be had for 2 years 32-36 million, why not take that route? We know that isn't going to happen though.
  16. Yes, I know I'm gonna get bashed for this idea, but he is still out there, and is going to want to prove something. Someone is going to sign the guy, why not us? I haven't seen a single thing about him this off season. Would he take a one year 10-12 million deal to cash in on a future multi year deal with someone else? Talk about a risk - reward situation...
  17. True, but then again, it's always the same people who argue with them...
  18. This is what we typically do every year, or so it seems.
  19. I should be a little more clear of my intentions when I post this meme. I post it every time someone says he is cheap, if I could post the meme in blue I would. It's not saying that I think he is cheap, just my failing attempt at sarcastic humor.
