  1. This is just painful.
  2. Murphy over thinking and trying to be cute. If it works, he's a genius, if it doesn't, no one in the media will call him out, so it's all good. Priester should have started game 2, at home, end of story.
  3. Time for a ride on the Mears roller coaster I guess.......................................oh boy.
  4. Wow, ump missed that one, so nasty the ump didn't know it. Crap!
  5. Two games in a row that Cubs fans were riding high after the top of the 1st inning. Two games in a row we ripped their freaking hearts out! Keep it coming Crew, KEEP IT COMING!
  6. ...and we are down 0-3.
  7. I knew it, I just felt it. It just wasn't prudent to be cute with an opener in a game of this magnitude. Ashby isn't used to starting games, and Priester isn't used to coming in as a non-starter. This had failure written all over it. Yeah, Ashby has started games, and Priester as come in after an opener to some success, but it wasn't normal behavior. It just wasn't. Now we need to overcome this nonsense. Geez.
  8. So I'm guessing this is the plan: Ashby hopefully gets through 2 Priester gets the next 4 Koenig gets the 7th Uribe the 8th Megill the 9th - assuming Megill is still our closer, if not, then just flip him and Uribe. Koenig. Uribe and Megill have to get an inning tonight regardless of the score. They haven't pitched in a legit game for ages, and we have to get them back involved, so they can be effective after game 2. We have another off day tomorrow, so if they don't pitch again tonight, that is another 2 days without game action.
  9. Ashby has done this once this season, with good results I admit, but this just feels like doing something to do it. Do we have any idea how Priester will react to doing this? Anything to mess with his head isn't a good thing. The way it seems, he knows he's coming in, but not sure when. What if Ashby struggles, makes it through 2/3 of an inning and Priester comes in at that time? I just don't like messing with a formula that has been working all season, but we shall see. Hopefully, I'm worrying about nothing, and this all works out, but if it doesn't, Murphy deserves to be criticized. Here's hoping Ashby goes 2 innings, dominates, and Priester comes in and does his thing.
  10. How many games has Ashby been the opener/starter for the Brewers this season?
  11. Agreed, I don't know why the playoffs is a time to try new stuff, and this seems like it could backfire. It's like Counsell starting Boyd on 3 days rest, how did that work out? I'd start Priester, then go to Ashby if necessary later. I don't like messing with what has got us here. I want nothing more than to be wrong, but this just seems like Murphy is doing something different just to be doing something different.
  12. Ok, this is getting dumb. I don't want to tie him down to the Brewers, I want the Brewers to cut ties, and go with someone else. Someone that honestly cares about the Brewers and knows their stuff. I like regular tv guys, not fill-ins and substitutes. Not commenting anymore on this. Like I said earlier, I might be the only one here who thinks this, and I'm cool with that.
  13. My complaint is for regular season games, not the playoffs.
  14. yup But like I said, he isn't the Brewers announcer any longer, just a fill in that we see once in a while. The Brewers need to get back to some consistency with their TV guys, I like hearing the same guys for 90% of the season, not a new mixed up pair every single game. Probably just me, and I'm cool with that.
  15. Was it not his choice to sign contracts that pull him off Brewers broadcasts? BA is no longer a Brewer announcer, he's a guy who shows up occasionally to call Brewers games, nothing more.
  16. Please... Where on earth did you come up with that? Ridiculous.
  17. Not his choice? I beg to differ. The Brewers are just his side gig now. He isn't nearly as informative as he used to be. You can tell he is just reading off his notes that have been handed to him by some producer or what not, and doesn't have the feel for the Brewers as a team like he used to. He used to be great, now I'd rather not have him at all...
  18. Too bad Hoskins was basically ignored once he came off the IL, and probably just isn't up to speed to be thrown into the playoffs. At minimum, Hoskins should have been getting at least semi regular at bats for just this reason.(even 2-3 starts a week would have been better than almost nothing) No in game at bats doesn't make him to enticing for me personally.

  20. Jackson Chourio (hamstring) told reporters after Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday that his early exit due to hamstring tightness was a precautionary measure. Chourio noted that he feels good and that he’s happy the Brewers came away with a victory on Saturday. The dynamic 21-year-old suffered the injury while legging out an infield single in the second inning on Saturday. The built in off-day plays to his advantage here as he should be ready to roll for Game 2 on Monday evening against the Cubs. 29m ago Source: Adam McCalvy
  21. Nah, they just got thumped... You are trying too hard for the negative spin that doesn't exist.
