  1. The risk with this guy is what happens to the locker room. I'd be afraid to add a personality like his to this group of guys.
  2. This is the IGT thread. It's ok to have hot takes here. This is the place to "spout off" if you feel the need.
  3. I'm sure Joey is pretty happy about losing playing time while he was on a heater for a few weeks.
  4. They know he's being traded, so they just want to make sure they keep him healthy through the weekend. I don't want him, but I won't keep talking about it, it's on record. :)
  5. I agree, the 10 million or so is no skin off our backs, pay it, and then pay less in prospect value hopefully. I can't imagine that salary is going to be any different for other teams anyway, so it's a non issue. You think the Dodgers would back out because of that 10 million? lol Nope, it's just another part of the deal, and whoever gets Skubal will gladly pay it.
  6. Another Skubal thread? This could have easily gone in one of the other 25 threads...
  7. I'd hate to trade Pena to the Reds, then in a couple years, we'd get to watch him mash us to pieces on the regular...
  8. Are you a moderator? Just checking, if not, your condescension and telling others how to post isn't warranted.
  9. That would be a farm drainer... *yikes*
  10. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that “Chicago lines up very nicely with the Mets” as the Mets look to trade RHPs Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes. Peralta and Holmes are almost assuredly being dealt this week, and the Cubs are looking to add starting pitching. As Passan notes, the Cubs also have “plenty of bats available” that could interest the Mets, like Matt Shaw and Pedro Ramirez in the big leagues, or Owen Ayers and Jefferson Rojas in the minors. It remains to be seen if the teams can make anything work, but the pieces seem to be there. - Eric Samulski 3h ago Source: ESPN.com
  11. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the Brewers “love the idea of Mason Miller joining what’s already a superpen.” Passan notes that the Brewers are involved in the bidding for Tarik Skubal and are certainly looking to add starting pitching depth, but they could pivot to add Miller and trust that young starters like Shane Drohan, Robert Gasser, and/or Brandon Sproat can pitch 4-5 innings before turning the game over to a dominant bullpen. - Eric Samulski 3h ago Source: ESPN.com
  12. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the Dodgers are the favorite to land Tarik Skubal at the trade deadline. We’re sure the baseball world would react favorably to this move, especially with owners using competitive imbalance to push for a salary cap. The Dodgers should get Blake Snell back in the next week or two, and Tyler Glasnow is set to begin a rehab assignment next week, but some health concerns are keeping Shohei Ohtani (knee/bicep) off the mound, Eric Lauer was acquired as a short-term fix, and about Roki Sasaki and Emmet Sheehan have had inconsistent seasons, so the Dodgers may not want to trust them in the postseason. The Dodgers have plenty of prospect hitters to deal to make this work, so another team is going to have to simply beat their offer. - Eric Samulski 3h ago Source: ESPN.com
  13. Their asking price is different than what they will get. If their asking price stays the same, he will remain a Padre.
  14. When I look at his season, I want nothing to do with him. Nothing he has to offer is any better than any of the guys we are throwing out there currently. Seriously, he's been a trainwreck, If we do something stupid and overpay, I truly hope it isn't any top 100 guys oe top 30 guys in our farm system.
  15. Why is it that people are willing to just accept nonsense. It's ok if we, as fans, expect better, especially against the frickin' Rockies and Giants.
  16. Everyone so quick to include Pena in all these trades? I sure hope the Brewers value him a lot more than people here.
  17. NO on Pena. Straight up NO!
  18. Geez. To me, that is way too much to give up for 3 months of a starting pitcher. I'd rather roll with Miz, Harrison and Henderson and save the farm.
  19. I asked a simple question. Simple as that. Relax.
  20. YELICH = MVP! He's hot, time to get him back in that lead-off spot tomorrow!
